Let me start with this- the accommodation was very cheap and the expectation I guess shouldn’t have been high. But, I cannot negotiate the cleanliness and the smell in the room. The room we stayed in, was smelling like so bad that we had to get freshener for the room. I also had my doubts about cleanliness there.
The breakfast is poor, the same things every day, plus just fast cooked meals like 3 types of pies staffed with the same filling. The desserts were good.
Location- now for Rio Vermelho is ok the location, but we didn’t find anything attractive about this area, so I would mostly suggest staying in Pelourinho or Santo Antonio areas- very beautiful, full of nice restaurants.

The men's communal toilets were locked without any explanation although there were several alternative coed toilets available. Not really a problem in fairness.
