Pleasant
The location was perfect, in the middle of everything but quiet enough to get a good night sleep. Breakfast staff was super sweet (especially Dona Graca), just like the breakfast itself. The room and bed were spacious, the shower was strong, and we had a view over the bay (though through the backyard which was quite run down). Having 24-hrs security provided by Jair was a bonus!
Perhaps this was specific to our room but everything was too basic, old and run down: Our bed had pieces hanging from it, the pillows and duvet were shabby, the white floor towel was not changed once in 5 days, WIFI was only available if you stood directly by the room door, and the safe was the size & weight of a small purse so did not provide any security.

Breakfast was delicious, there was a beautiful view from the terrace, rooms were clean and spacious. The location is excellent for sightseeing Salvador.
The wi-fi didn't work on the floor where my room was located.

The location was fabulous, close to restaurants, bars, and only a short walk to Palourinho.
The rooms were large and clean, good shower.
The young man at reception needs to be more engaging.
He also needs to learn some basic answers to tourists questions, eg where is the money exchange.
He stood by and watched as I struggled with my suitcase to open the front door which opened inwards.

The view was amazing! Right on the bay. Beautiful. The breakfast on the balcony was top! Great food and great staff.

Absolutely nothing. Poor service, poor management and stressing stayed.
I made the reservation and paid using an international credit card on the Booking.com app. I received confirmation by email. When checking in, I was informed that payment could only be made at the hotel because the hotel does not have an agreement with booking. It was extremely stressful for anyone waiting for a night in a hotel. There were cockroaches in the room, lots of them, and the noise of drunk guests screaming all night. It was a nightmare.

Lovely old hotel. Our room had a balcony and view. Room was clean. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was good with beautiful view of the bay. Would recommend.

Great location, decent breakfast with nice seating area.
A lot of hotels on booking.com are advertising things they don’t deliver. I paid a little extra for a sea view and got put in a city view. It’s just frustrating that you can’t rely on anything you read on booking.com, have had this issue with car rentals as well with booking.com, it’s like you’re always in for a surprise and booking’s customer service is basically non existent so I try to avoid using the company
