Amazing staff, we had a lot of questions and got good recommendations and answers!
Staff were keeping everything organized and cleaned in the common areas actively.
Special thanks for her who recommended chapada diamantina as the next destination as it became the highlight of our trip<3

Great location, convenient and safe, very nice staff always telling you what was happening in Salvador each day, well equipped kitchen, nice rooftop terrace to meet other people in the hostel, great price for salvador

Excellent staff, great common area. Wonderful hostel for meeting friends. Great area outside of the main tourist drag of the Pelourinho. I ended up extending my stay and stayed for almost 10 days here because I felt very comfortable. Probably my favorite hostel of my 10 week travel in Brasil.
Facilities could use some updating, as well as the sheets.

Second time in Salvador and second time staying in Nega Maluca. It is in prime location with great staff and amenities. Staff can give great tips on what to do at night and where to visit during the day. I will definitely stay here again when in Salvador

Nega Maluca is the perfect place to meet other travellers and a good place from where you can discover the city. Diego had every day some recommendations on concerts or parties so it wont get boring.

Diego (the owner) is so helpful, generous and kind. He takes care of all his guests, making sure we see the best places in the city. Even if I am a female solo traveller, I really felt safe with all his advices.

Diego is super kinda and is helpful to give lots of information and good recommendations for what to do/where to go/where not to go etc. the common areas were also nice and the wifi worked well and the location was perfect. They also clean the bathrooms every day so it was kept very clean. Overall I enjoyed my stay bc of the vibes (chill but familiar and social at the same time) and location and I felt safe there. I would stay again.
The dorm rooms are a little worn down, for example the plug and light by my bed did not work

The staff is really nice, try to make your trip as smooth as they could !
The location is great and safe, if you are interested in the history of Salvador and the music of the city, you'll be well suit !
You'll miss something for sure if you pass through this city and don't stop at Nega Maluca Guest house !

Excellent spot. Well-located on the edge of Pelourinho in Santo Antnio bairro. The Diego, Gustavo, and the rest of the staff were extremely attentive and helpful. Diego even gave some pretty niche things to visit and experience in the city. I wont spoil those here though better to visit and learn for yourself!
The hostel was pretty vacant when I visited, but it was admittedly in the off-season of tourism here in Salvador. I dont have any qualms with the hostel itself. I will say, Pelourinho can be hit or miss to walk around at night, so keep your wits.
