? A nice budget surprise? Located oceanfront in the Pituba neighborhood of Salvador, the Dan Inn exceeded my expectations. The daily 'cafe de manha' served up a great Brazilian buffet of coffee/yogurt/granola/fresh tropical fruit/juices+. My oceanview room with private bath was very comfortable & clean with an A/C I could use during the heat of the day, but being a person who loves fresh air, I was happy I could open the sliding glass window at nite, and listen to the sound of the ocean waves that were so soothing to my ears. A Gem of years gone by, yet well maintained/renewed. A great option for budget travelers wanting to be close to everything (esp. the Rio Vermelho cultural scene & nightlife) w/buses available out front. I will stay here next time I return for sure??

The unwillingness of the reception staff to help on simple requests like calling a taxi or assisting on Uber recommendations. No reading lamps in the bedrooms, lack maintenance in the room.

Breakfast is very good and delicious. Staff of the hotel are kind and helpful.
The bed was comfortable but not enough for my height of 188 cm. Swimming pool is small.

The room we had was clean, spacious, 2 comfortable beds, AC, and an okay bathroom.
We really liked the breakfast with fresh bread.
Friendly staff.
We had bad weather so we couldn’t use the swimming pool, but we didn’t miss much because the view from the pool was an abandoned building and it’s right next to the entrance, reception, and the road.

Wifi not working from the room, old hotel and no facilities, everything smelled like a cheap detergent, the hotel needs to be renovated, the pool cannot be used, breakfast very basic
