The location is very central and safe as you have cops standing there day and night
Honestly I’ve stayed in better place for half the price
The guy that works there at night have no clues what’s going on. I did my checkin at 2am, the guy didn’t go upstairs to show me the room and it happened that he sent me to the wrong one so I woke up another guest
Another time I got a full interrogation when I got back at night and I had to negotiate 20min a discount I already had for extending
You have to do your bed yourself even in the private rooms
The ac wasn’t functioning for the 1st night
It’s clean but kind of old and there’s no vibe

Breakfast was buffet type. All food provided was very fresh and healthful. Fresh fruit served daily and a variety of warm and cold foods. Coffee was excellent!
Mattresses could have been thicker and more comfortable, but it didn’t prevent a good night’s rest, just not very comfortable.

Amazing location right in the heart of Pelourinho where there was samba everywhere! Really sociable too, met some great people too

The hostel is very centrally located. There are lockers available to store your stuff (outside of the room), the breakfast was nice (though I was one of the first, so still a lot of choice), there is police standing in front of the door 24/7 for security. I think it's a pretty social hostel, so easy to meet new people.
There is a kitchen available to prepare some food.
The breakfast could be a bit more diverse. Two types of fruit (papaya and water melon), but 4 types of cake. That's not my idea of a good breakfast. The rooms are small, very small. Barely any space for my backpack. Besides, people just randomly sleeping in beds that weren't assigned to them. The showers were alright, but very small as well, and didn't have any hooks to hang up clothes or towels. The man at the reception (at night), had a very unfriendly demeanor to him. The guy in the morning was a lot more friendly.
What I didn't like, is the fact that I paid 15 or 16 euros, for a pretty basic hostel. I would expect more for that kind of money. Also the streets can be noisy, especially around carnaval. But I read also outside of carnaval it's loud, because the windows have to be open, due to the heat. (no airco)
Wifi was not really good, and disconnected every 3 minutes, what made browsing online or doing an online payment very complicated.

We arrived and there was no water for shower. The room with ac was too cold and me and my friend couldn't sleep. I am going to Bahia so I don't expect to feel cold, so of course no jackets with me, neither my friend. l went down to the reception during the night and took 30 minutes to someone appear, and he turned off the ac. The others girls in the room were also cold because we talked about it in the morning. Next day, me and my friend asked for a blanket in the reception, and the guy told us that we had to pay for one (we paid for the room already and we are not receiving a good service, so the minimum is not to charge for a blanket). I had to fight for this blanket for 30 minutes with the receptionist... My friend doesn't speak portuguese, she was speaking in english with him, and he was replying in portuguese which is very rude, and he was understanding what my friend was saying cause he was replying to her but in portuguese. Luckily I speak portuguese so I could talk with him. After so long of arguing and after I mentioned that was not even water in our first night for shower, he finally gave the blanket.

In general a decent place at a good location in town.
The showers and toilets are definitely in need of some repairs and updates. Super small, no place to hang your stuff, doors that can't be locked. Just some basic repairs would already help improve the facilities a lot.

It’s a nice hostel. The triple room was spacious enough. The space is overall clean, though could be cleaner. Very good breakfast.
Noisy in certain rooms, we one triple room for a double room. The second was noisy, the first one extremely calm.
