Wonderful
We loved our stay at Windsor California! The location was excellent and the staff was so friendly. We felt very safe and comfortable here. Perfect to watch the sunrise on the beach and enjoy the Copacabana atmosphere in the evening
You can sometimes hear people in the corridors when sleeping but it didn’t bother us too much

Breakfast and location were fine. Staff wonderful.
The BIG PROBLEM was lighting. It was hard to shave because it was hard to see with inadequate bathroom lights. Also reading lights were TERRIBLE as was the general room lighting. Plus, it would have been thoughtful to have a night light. But we were lucky to face the ocean and enjoy spectacular morning sunlight.

The breakfast was nice.
There is a strong chemical cleaning detergent odor in the lobby and through the hotel .
The reception desk people are
snobby and unwelcoming.
The room was okay , considering that it was the most expensive one.
Quite outdated and requires renovation.

Clean. Great location. Free parking.
We asked to check in at 2:00 instead of 4:00. We were told there would be a $40 fee to check in early even though the room was clean and available. With 8 out of 20 rooms unoccupied I would think checking in early would be a good will gesture and not cost the motel anything. Instead it soured my attitude. Plus when I wanted to use the hot tub it was out of order. On a positive note, the Camille restaurant attached was very good.

Breakfast was great, overall property had great amenities, the location was also excellent.
Anything financial was a nightmare. First, they declined my card and told me they'd cancel my reservation (my card was fine). Then i had to email them 2x to pay which they did not respond to. I think called them several times after which they finally emailed me the link to pay. Then once it was paid 4 days later they double charges the entire $1200 reservation and i had to call them to reverse it since it was not authorized. Then during checkout they couldn't reverse the pre-authorization (which even though they promised to cancel is still pending a month later 3/27), during checkout it took trying several cards to get them to close things out. I was in Brazil 5 weeks and only had card issues here. For a 5 star hotel the communication and frustrating financial situation was so bad I'd never come here again.

Great location in the heart of Copacabana beach. Rooftop pool had a great view, breakfast selection was delicious with many choices.

Straight at Copacabana, everything you might need is in the vicinity.
Rooms are great, big, clean, with everything you might need.
Pool on the rooftop is great addition, with beautiful views over Copacabana.
Staff is very professional and helpful, in all areas (reception, room service, cleaning, pool, etc.)
Breakfast has variety, and is delicious, and room service food is also good.
Would definelty consider staying here again.
Nothing major, but it would be nice to have a light duvet, instead of some rough, thin cover on the bed, which was not comfortable at all to cover ourselves with.
Also, our wardrabe was hard to open or close, with doors sometimes falling down.
In general, room could do use a bit of maintenance, and light touch ups to elevate the experience.

I liked the rooftop pool and the location on Copacabana beach.
The staff was nice, but not consistent. For instance, it took too long to get coffee despite adequate staffing. Also, not asked for omelette order except first day of my four day stay. The front desk was nice. They upgraded me to a superior room at no charge, as I had complained about my key not working and the concierge not securing a simple dinner reservation. Douglas was very nice and accommodating. Overall, the flow was just a bit off. It was a decent value for money.

Location, location, location!
Love the powerful shower head.
Staff members are highly attentive and professional.
Lucas made reservation for us at the most amazing steak place upon short notice— he’s the best!
Check out the rooftop pool and bar! Too bad we didn’t have time for those.
Our unit faces the inner building so it was dark most of the time. The bathroom could use a better ventilation system.

The stunning location directly on the beach in Copacabana. The views from the rooms on the upper floors and the deck with the pool bar were exquisite. The room was ok though for a hotel of a higher category it lucked basic amenities like a kettle or a hair dryer. Breakfast was good with a lot of typical Brazilian food. Attention from the stuff was friendly and kind.
That all said, what made the experience so frustrating was the extreme slowness. Waiting at check in and check out, at breakfast time for a simple omelette, at the restaurant for dinner etc and this is coming from a relatively chilled and experienced traveller who is married to a local. We have a lot of patience but there is a limit to everything even to cultural differences. So the overall feeling was that the hotel massively overcharges in European prices because of Carnival season but they are nowhere close in offering the service which is standard in any other Hotel of this supposed 4 Star Category Hotel.

We had a wonderful stay. Loved our room and the waking up to that gorgeous view everyday. The room was a tad small, but with the floor to ceiling windows you don't feel it. It was nicely cleaned everyday with cute touches like chocolate on the pillow! The facilities were always kept clean, and staff were very friendly and gave us good and helpful advice on how to plan our itinerary during our stay in Rio!
The only downside for us was the mattress in our room - it was way too soft and gave me back pain. It was clear that it was maybe over used as it was only one side of the bed that was extremely soft, the other side was a bit harder. I had to make sure I sleep in the middle of the bed. Not sure if tall the rooms/beds are like this or just our luck,

Couldn’t get an iron or steamer?!? Couldn’t get an extra towel for the lounge chairs. The gym not great, pool tiny and warm. Felt like we were in a three star hotel!
