It was a wonderful experience at Villa Alexandrino. The staff and the owner were really very nice and explained us everything about the house and the area.
The breakfast in the morning was amazing and having the views on the City was a beautiful thing.
We can recommend the Villa and would come back.
The house is old, we knew that. But some parts need more attention so that you still have an enjoyable experience
And yes, sometimes it is not easy to get an Uber or Taxi up there.

The host (Alex) is very accommodating and can tell you a lot about the city. The location of the house is also great and the overall vibe of this 150 year old building really adds to the experience.
Its fairly basic and the level of comfort could be a bit improved when looking at how its priced. Having said that, the host did everything to make our stay as confrontational and pleasant as possible!

Thank you to Alexis and the gang for making our stay so good. Alexis was full of vital information and very friendly. The breakfast the awesome cook made for us each day was so tasty. Especially the cake! We also loved Cafe and the cats!
It was a bit noisy at night due to the location but you got used to it!

Beautiful house with good common spaces and a nice swimming pool. The breakfast included a nice selection of fresh fruit, cheese and sliced meat, along with fresh juice.
There is a very limited snack menu, and evening catering possibilities, but these are only available with a long advance notice and on an exceptional basis. Evening dining options are also beyond comfortable/safe walking range in the evening, and the kitchen is not designated for residents' use. The property recommended ordering delivered food in the evening, or eating outside the residence at restaurants accessible by taxi.

Beautiful old colonial-style house. Loads of classical features - high ceilings, large rooms, ornate decor. Location was private and pool is very secluded with plenty of shade. Alexis the host was very friendly and accommodating. He is supported by some excellent local support who provided excellent breakfasts. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Santa Theresa is a great location with a bohemian feel and some good bars and restaurants. It has much more charm than the more touristy beach hinterlands of Copacabana, Ipanema and Lennon, so if youre looking for an eclectic mix of art and culture, Santa Theresa is your place.
The bathrooms are getting to the state where they could do with some TLC - ie, all the fixtures are very old and whilst in keeping with the overall decor, they are showing significant signs of wear and tear. The adjacent bedroom to the main one we had could probably do with a permanent air con being installed, although the room is very shady and therefore doesnt get as hot as the others.
It would be a good idea to have a visitors information file in the reception area with details of busses, local restaurants etc so Alexis doesnt have to explain it all upon arrival.

This is a grand house, filled with charms and treasures in the edge of the lovely neighborhood Santa Teresa, with spectacular views and delicious breakfast. We had a huge room and a connecting room for my mother which was very convenient. The Bed was so comfortable and everything around us unique and amazing.But above all the gift of our stay was our host Alexis who was kind and nice and helpful, always there to assist and attend and fulfill your dreams!
