The location was walkable to lots of restaurants.
The property was far more run down than I expected. My room looked dated and the towels and bed sheets looked very worn. My keycard stopped working and I had to go down to the front desk every single day to fix it.

The Pool, the architecture and the food.
The location (outside the property) doesn’t feel safe at night. The aisles of the rooms in the main building are very obscure.

The surroundings are not the best, but it’s not far from Copacabana and Ipanema by car. I would definitely stay again :)

Overall, the hotel was amazing, facilities were great, staff were very helpful, room was spacious, beds were comfy, bathroom was large.
My only gripe is the location. It's not the best location in Rio as it feels like you're in a bit of a less safe area than if you were closer to Ipanema beach, Copacabana beach or the Sugarloaf mountain. Additionally, there aren't many great/reliable restaurants nearby so food options are somewhat limited around the hotel as not everything looks safe/decent.

Best in the area, which don't means much (it's a rundown neighborhood)
Room lighting is terrible, it's permanently dark, no ceiling lights, bathroom extremely dark even with all lights on

The location is great and close to most of the main attractions in Rio which are easy to navigate on foot or with short and affordable taxi/uber rides. That said, the neigbourhood is dirty and there are many homeless people, something which is quite prevalent in the city centre and no fault of the hotel.
There is no bar or entertainment at the hotel or concession if you need supplies. Some live music and a place for.peole to congregate would be an asset. The restaurant offers good value but the menu should be varied a bit more from day to day.

Rude staff, not welcoming at all (felt like in a jail where you have to obey what is been told), food tasted very bad, room not isolated, very loud
