The dorm room and especially the bathrooms were quite dirty.
Only 2 bathrooms/toilets and one toilet was blocked..

The view is beautiful and it’s good to have cheap places when you are out of budget but it’s in a favela and you should remember that
You should be careful all the time when you go out because it’s in a favela and honestly it’s dangerous, you don’t have any access to uber and if you have a baggage or something it’s gonna be super hard for you to get there, the motor taxis are also charging extra the foreigners, there were some people who were living in the hostel and they were not sleeping at night and were making noises or making fun of the guests who weren’t able to understand portugese and the receptionist was also hanging out with them, hearing a gun shot should not be a shocking thing for you if you wanna stay there
The bathrooms were awful, smelling bad and there is no warm water available
No one could speak English at the reception

Very nice and fun place and it has a patio with an amazing view. Very close to Leblon and Ipanema beach. The neighborhood is safe and full of humble and friendly people.

I saw someone just took a sip my bottle of my Pepsi and put it back to the refrigerator in front of me at 6 am. I think he might be one of the family running the hostel.

The view over the ocean is the best at this hostel
Cleanliness was really below standards, even for a hostel. The bathrooms and showers were dirty, rooms smelled like mold, all the couches in the common spaces were very dirty. Also, the staff was unengaged and cold, showed no interest in the guests’ confort.

Great view of Rio
Extremely dangerous neighborhood. Two armed men grabbed me right at the entrance. I didn't know it's a Favela when I booked. They were asking for my phone, and I refused so they started yelling "F.. you" and I fought them back when they grabbed me. I was lucky a woman intervened explaining they wanted to make sure I didn't take their photo. They were working with drug dealers. I saw several others with guns. It's a filthy place. Frankly I don't even know how this is on Booking.com

Amazing location with one of the rest views in all of Rio and a great terraço and comunal área overlooking the sea in one of the more interesting áreas to stay in in Rio. Nice volunteers and good comunal spaces and kitchen.
Would be nice if the kitchen had some more work surface and there were some hamocks on the deck.

Wonderful
Having chosen a private room and paid a little extra for a sea view, I was not disappointed. A stunning and unforgettable sea view filled the window frame! Good price.
Simple and basic was all I needed, so I have no complaints, though, as a cycle tourist, a little difficult to get to.

The view. It was beautiful but it was the only good thing about the place.
A possession of my was stolen from my bag in my room, likely from a member of the staff that was there at the time I put it away.
There was often no running water upstairs
No AC in the room.
The bed was very small and uncomfortable.
It was very unclean.
The neighborhood is very bad.

The view is the only nice thing...
- The hostel didn't answer on my messages for one week (and they received it...)
- Super bad mattress and blanket condition + bed was partly broken
- The water was not working on 2 of 3 days (no shower etc. possible)
- Dirty bathroom
- air-conditioning in the dorm was not working (12 beds)
It was the worst hostel in 6 months brasil traveling...
