Location
Quality - Benefit ratio on this hotel is totally disproportional and does not fit the reviews indicated in Booking website. Prices are expensive comparing with the quality of the rooms, installations and services provided. Hotel too old and with poor maintenance. A lot of humidity on the room, corridors and halls. WiFi signal inside room was poor and almost null, could not keep a meeting conference call properly. Room was having poor conditions and lack of cleanliness, room bed was not clean properly, walls with dirt and stains, closet with a lot of humidity and odor, room desk and lights desk covered in sand and dust. Breakfast options were sour and salty, not a proper experience. First and Last experience on the Tropical Barra hotel, I will not repeat booking at this hotel! There are better options around. If booking allow reservation refunds, this must be the perfect example for that.

Breakfast was excellent, served in a beautiful restaurant space with views of the beach. The location of the hotel is great, just across the street from the beach, you can go from the lobby to jumping in the water in less than a minute. Its in a relatively quiet spot but its an easy walk to plenty of great parks, restaurants, and shopping centers

I'll start with food cos I am a foodie. So many great options for breakfast. They had fresh orange juice too, which was a treat. The staff were amazing, very courteous too.
I loved the hotel, it was right across the amazing beach. The wifi connection was great. I even had a TV in the room, so I caught the UCL final live!
The best part, though, was the view. I could see the beach from my room, and the view was incredibly stunning. It was a fantastic place and I would stay there again if I were in Rio.

Location
Rooms are very old, poorly decorated, not well maintained, noisy ancient window AC, beautiful views which you can barely see through dirty windows. Breakfast is repetitive and very basic. Location is the only redeeming factor for this hotel.

We are very disappointed with this hotel. There's a significant discrepancy between the photographs on the website and the actual condition of the hotel. The hotel advertises these rooms as "luxury", which is extremely misleading. The hotel has a very 80's style, looking like no maintenance has been done since then. It has an abandoned feeling with yellow tones throughout.
Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The conditions were shocking, with:
- Stains on the walls
- Filthy windows
- Peeling paint
- Cracks in the building and tiles
- Mold in the shower
- Hair in the bed
- Dirty towels
- A broken air conditioner
When we raised our concerns with the reception, one of the employees acknowledged that the hotel’s actual condition did not match the photos advertised. However, instead of taking responsibility, they blamed the cleaners and refused to offer any compensation despite the undeniable evidence of the poor conditions.
We spent 3 weeks in Brazil, averaging around 3 nights per place. This was the only place we were disappointed with, also being in the higher range of what we paid a night during our visit. Unfortunately, this was one of the most uncomfortable and unsanitary hotels we have ever stayed in. We would strongly advise others to avoid it.

The room was a good size with windows that opened and fridge, safe and bathroom.
The air conditioning unit was VERY noisy so we had to turn it very low to try and sleep. Difficult due to high temperatures.
There was no mattress cover or protection. Just a sheet which didn’t fit well so one could wake up on the mattress .
The hot water in shower was excellent but the cold water very minimal so one had to have hot low as well or could get burnt! Basically a trickle .

Breakfast was very good. A lot of types of sweet and savory available.
Great location.
Service is excellent.
Cleaning was the thing I did not like. I choose ocean view, and windowns were blurry.
Hotel structure is also kinda old.

The beach is fantastic, the window view is lovely and the staff super helpful. The breakfast is also nice.
Unfortunately the noise and the smell of gas from all the buses and cars stopping underneath our window at night was unbearable due to the vicinity to the road so it was impossible to keep the windows open to breath the breeze from the ocean.
So we could only close the window and rely on a very old and noisy A/C. .
I am sorry to say that we had a very rough night.
