Beautiful little place right in the heart of Ipanema.
Ricardo the host is super friendly and helpful. You can easily walk to Copacabana or Ipanema and are close to restaurants and supermarkets.
We felt very at home here.

Close to the beach. The price is good.
The host who talked with me was not there when I checked in, which caused some problem. I didn't have towels for the first night. I spent some time to find how to park by myself. The air condition was extremely loud and I could barely sleep. Can only accept cash so I had to search for bank to get money from my debit card.

Ricardo is a good guy and recommend him as a host 100%. He is always there to answer your question and is helpful. You can also rent bikes through him.
I wouldn’t recommend the accommodation because for a private room you don’t have privacy at all. a hostel is on the opposite side and you can hear them almost all the time so it feels like you are staying in that hostel. The window is very thin and next to the window is hammock which everyone can used so the owner and other guests sometimes chilling there and can hear everything from your room.
The kitchen is clean because the owner also lives there. The location is close to the beach and to every supermarket.
I had better accommodations in ipanema for a cheaper price.
Because of the owner and the location I would not give a bad review but I would not stay there again.

I felt very welcome and Ricardo made sure to be there for anything I needed.
The room was small but it had everything I needed. The facilities were great, a clean and well functioning shower and toilet.

Loved this place! The interior has lots of paintings- there is common spaces inside and outside. There’s not too many guests so it’s never crowded and you don’t have to wait for bathrooms. The place is very secure, I felt safe the whole time. Ricardo is the best and was super helpful. There’s lots of kitchen space. The room had so much storage/shelves for putting my things. It was a heatwave while I was there but each room has AC and fans. The location is amazing and a short walk to the beach. I really liked the super market across the street. The WiFi was also very fast. I would stay here again and recommend to everyone I know. Thank you!

The good vybe Ricardo was offering. Respectfull and dynamic. A pearl as an host! Honestly everything was good. There was decen space.
The kitchen is a bit small if you enjoy to cook, but its easy to adapt.

My sister and I stayed at The Bike House twice during our stay in Brazil. Ricardo is friendly and helpful, he is always just a WhatsApp message away if/ when we needed anything.
The rooms have mosquito nets which were very helpful.
The aircon means the room is a very comfortable temperature.
Having a kitchen and fridge space was super helpful as we could prepare our own meals and hot drinks.
The location is great, you’re 2 blocks from the beach and surrounded by nice restaurants and bars.
The house itself is locked and is in a gated community so we felt safe at all times.
My only critique would be that the aircon in the second room we stayed in was very noisy but apart from that we found no fault with the property.

I liked that I was always able to use the toilet when needed and/or have a shower. I also liked the fact that I had space in the fridge for my food and that I could cook. Riccardo was always helpful and answered any questions I had. I especially liked that he gave me the key to pick up my luggage even though I had checked out. The mattress was super comfortable and the property was 4 blocks away from the beach ?️.
I was alone as travelling solo and whilst I met people they were in pairs. Also as I am a backpacker it was a bit expensive for me for more than a week.

The Owner is a really nice guy. He also speaks really good English which was helpful for us. The homestay has a really cool vibe, kind of artsy and alternative. We had a great time staying there!
