Generally it's okay. I would stay again because of location and safeness. Its next to the beach. It's acceptable.
- English is problem. They dont speak English. Only 1 employee can speak English. So you have to wait him/her.
- The staff is not professional: Welcoming should be better. I had an issue with invoice(s) (for business travel, its important).

The location. Close proximity to the beach.
They should improve cleanliness. The safe locker did not work for several days, even after reparations service. The reception staff did not speak English

Beautiful hotel next to the beach and a short 10 minute walk to the main bars and restaurants.
The breakfast was buffet and there were many choices.
They didn’t offer currency exchange which I would have expected from a large hotel like this.

The facilities are not better than Ibis which is in the same building and costs half. Cleaning service is deficient. Left a couple of Tennis in the lobby and the personal did not give them back. Poor language skills by the staff. The situation of the building is good but I don´t see the value of paying more for Mercure having the same staff for Ibis at half the price.

Breakfast options and quality improved since the last time I visited the hotel.
Although the area is very beautiful, walking around the hotel is scaring. Rio de Janeiro became a dangerous place for tourists. Guests walking almost naked in the reception area(men not using shirts).
