Location and the staff were simply Amazing!
My room had bed bugs, I requested a refund for three of the seven night’s accommodation. I was moved to a different room that had moisture damage and I declined the offer to was my clothes very disappointed being my first time in Brazil.

Great location on Copacabana beach
The hotel is pretty dated and didn't meet the quality I'd expect for a JW specifically with facilities and room quality. I've stayed at lower priced hotels with better quality. It needs a major renovation.

The location, the roof top, the so professional staff with always a smile, the breakfast is excellent.
The furniture in the room was little “tired” and old fashion.

The cleaning ladies did a professional job ensuring room was clean. However I was very disappointed ? with the room being set up for one person and it was myself and my partner. I was being charged $1,034 US dollars a night for this service.
The JW Marriott is no where near charging a $1,034 US dollars ? a night for there Guest rooms with an ocean view. The bed ? sinks in middle destroying your lower back. I will take my money ? to a 3 star ⭐️ location and spend $1,034 a night and stay in huge room. JW Marriott is not a five 5️⃣ or four star ? rated ? hotel ?. I should have paid no more than $350 a night…,

It's just too much of a scam. The rooms are overpriced (hidden fees on booking, fake 'special deals', no balcony or terrace... well there is a terrace on the roof but it's closed in the mornings and evenings). My view on the 15th floor was towards the other wall of the hotel). When I checked inn I was surprised 1 night is 400 dollars (instead of 400 Reales which would make more sense). There is lots of cheaper and better options in Rio which also offer better booking conditions (in regard to fees, cancellation etc). I spent have my time in this place waiting for an elevator or being forced to go in the wrong direction with it. One of 3 didn't work at all. Also the card of another guest didn't work and I sent here down to reception again with mine. It was weird.

At the time of check-in, it was not clear that the breakfast was complimentary, thus making for a pleasant surprise at checkout. There was a drainage problem in the shower that was addressed immediately.
