Wonderful
A nice place to stay in a safe neighborhood, with lots of great bars and cafés just around the corner. The on-site bar with terrace is also very enjoyable for relaxing. There is a swimming pool, and while the shared toilets and showers are a bit basic, they are fine. Overall, a cozy and comfortable place to stay!
We stayed in a private room without a private bathroom. The bed is a bit firm for Dutch standards, but otherwise we slept very well!

It was the first hostel I visited in rio, paid 440 reals on private room per night!!!! 880 reals in total! And it was the worst room and most expensive room I had in all Brazil!!! I cant believe I paid 440 reals! For this gross grossest room. Do your research before going, there are better hostels. The room was like a basement and smelled like mold.

Great vibes, classic good backpacker style hostel in an excellent location.
A bit noisy, and there was only one bathroom upstairs, so we often had to go downstairs to use it. And they were not so clean. But the overall vibe was quite clean and nice!

Centrally located and nice patio for breakfast.
It’s too tight, they pack too many people in a small place. They have 3-level bunk beds so not good to sleep. The staff was not that helpful.

The checking was a horrible experience that ruined my whole stay.

The hostel and pool had a lovely feel.
The room was absolutely dreadful and really expensive for something of that quality. The floor was concrete not tiled. The double bed was minute as was the room. It was horrid. We left after 1 night as it was so bad but were not offered any kind of refund.

I would NOT recommend booking the private room since there is a chance you will have the one next to the reception. I was unlucky to have it for 1 week and it’s super noisy ? everytime a guest wants to enter the hostel, you will hear the buzz from your room… especially at night. Plus some common room is right in front of the door and they dont enforce the quiet policy after 10pm.
So get ready to have very limited sleep nights if they assign you the private room next to the reception.

Majority of staff are amazing, they seem so genuine and helpful.
The location is amazing, being solo and first time in South America I was unsure but it feels very safe secure and in a well looked after neighbourhood.
The private room I had literally opens up into reception, so just be aware of that.
