The location is amazing, and safe. This is really the only hostel in Ipanema, and one of the few properties available at this price point, so it's a plus that its there. Also has a pool and 24/7 reception and some other services.
The room was really small, and moist. With small thin sheets as well. Definitely not the best place to sleep. Also the mattresses by the pool are really worn out. If comfort is a priority for you, reconsider this.

Swimmimg Pool area closed after 10 pm but when you go to your room you pass through the area, what's the point? It feels like you're a child
People smoking everywhere
No locks provided
No key needed to enter your dorm, feels unsafe
You cannot bring alcohol beverages on the premises
Neighbourhood not good for partying, need to take a Uber to Copacabana or even further
Swimming pool is dirty
Beds are not comfortable
Bad odours in the dorm because of the lack of ventilation
I saw bugs in the swimming pool area, pretty disgusting

Great location, very friendly staff, breakfast and drinks nice and reasonably prices. We like it so much we extended our stay. The women's dorm particularly was very lovely.

Location is veeery good! 5 mins walk from Ipanema beach, very safe area and very close to metro station. Staff is very helpful and kind, nice pool area surrounded with palm trees for relaxation. Good breakfast with different options. Location is close to a shop where you can buy daily products.
Bed linens and sheets could be cleaner. I think the only big minus in this place. And rooms with 3 floor beds, the highest one is too high to climb :)

Nice pool area, pretty place, well equipped kitchen with plenty of amenities, hot water was lacking for showers but it was 30 degrees so didnt mind so much.
We go out in the bottom room next to the kitchen which was quite loud and lacking air flow so you can smell what people are cooking, unfortunately the bunk beds are wooden and not attached to the wall so they creek a lot and move when people go up and down the ladders making it feel as if youre on a boat, staff are 50/50, either really nice or didnt seem to care about travellers wanting information or taking care of them, night staff are quite loud at night cooking also, making being in the bottom room less comfortable,
