What I appreciated about my stay at Wyndham Rio Barra was the convenient location, access to the beach, and the availability of a 24-hour convenience store. The only standout aspect of the service was Nadia Annabelma at reception and one of the bellmen, who were both helpful, professional, and made an effort to assist. Their support was the main positive during an otherwise disappointing experience.
My stay at Wyndham Rio Barra was extremely disappointing, as the hotel felt neglected with outdated, poorly maintained facilities and visible cleanliness issues, including mold in the bathroom and worn, unclean linen. Basic amenities were lacking, and there was no clear guidance for smoking areas or proper disposal of cigarette waste, which added to the inconvenience. Overall, the poor customer service and limited breakfast options made the experience even more frustrating, especially given expectations from a hotel within the Wyndham chain.

I liked the proximity to the beach, of course. The pool was very good also. That's probably it. Not many good features for an so-called 4 Stars hotel.
The room was dirty. Walls, furniture and celling were dirty or scratched. Bathroom was also old and rusty. Way bellow what I expected for a so-called 4 stares. Especially considering the room cost.

It looks nice from the outside and it’s in a good location.
The bedside tables were broken. The water takes 5 minutes to get warm. There is a lot of mildew in the bathroom. The mirror in the bathroom is flaking badly. Rust. Patching and painting have been attempted but they weren’t done well. The fridge and the microwave seem to have been afterthoughts so they were just thrown on the counter filling it completely. No water in the room. We used the provided sign to indicate that we wanted the room to be cleaned but nothing was done.

The distance to the beach was the best thing.
The food was not to the standards of the qualification for the hotel. The staff was a bit rude at first but varied depending the time of the day and people. The room wasn’t also luxury as it said it was.

The hotel definitely exceeded my expectations. Even though the bathroom needed some "updating", the room overall was very comfortable. Also, all the facilities in the hotel are very good, you have everything you need.
The breakfast experience was not the best, the area is small and gets too crowded at peak times, you have to queue to get a table.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others: do NOT stay at this hotel. I paid for what was supposed to be their “best room,” and what we were initially given was absolutely unacceptable—run-down, depressing, and clearly not what I paid for. Only after complaining did they move us, and even then, the “upgrade” was a joke.
The room we ended up in still had major issues. The doors didn’t work properly, the air conditioning in the main room was broken, and to top it all off—I found a cockroach. Yes, in their best room. The entire property is in rough shape and badly in need of renovations.
I spoke to other guests who were just as horrified. No one I met had a good experience. The beach out front is mediocre at best, and unless you’re up at the crack of dawn, you can forget about getting a beach chair or even a towel. They simply run out. Unacceptable for a so-called “resort.”
The whole experience felt like a scam. Don’t be fooled by the photos or the descriptions—this hotel is nothing like what they promise. Save yourself the money, time, and frustration. Don’t go.
