Amazing location, a block away from the beach and the metro. There's also a great bakery next door. As a solo female traveler I always felt safe walking around and the vibe and energy of the hostel was epic. I made some friends for life and it was easy to do so because the hostel has tons of activities every day/night with a great team of volunteers easing things along. The staff was so so friendly and I felt at home as soon as I arrived, they helped me bring my bags up and answered all of my questions with ease and kindness. Just great vibes and banter from all. I even rebooked to stay there again at the end of my trip! They clean very often and I never felt any of the common areas/bathrooms were ever dirty. It was honestly exceptional. Shoutout to Rodrigo, Jojo, Lucas, Luis as well as volunteers Vanessa, Tuva, Tim and Laura for making my trip truly unforgettable.

I wish there were showers separated from the rooms in case the one in the bedroom is busy. If you are in a room with 10 people it can get a bit chaotic.

The staff is super super nice. A special thanks to Luiz, Cristal, Eric, Jordana and Tim that made me feel like home. The activities organized every day by them are very nice and perfect if you’re traveling solo like me! Also special thanks to the cleaning team. They are very professional and kept the room and shared toilet very clean! I love it
Sometimes the room gets very noisy because of this metal drawers. It’s a bit annoying! I would invest in more silent friendly facilities in the future. Despite from that everything was perfect!

Comfortable beds, central location, close to the beach, social activities everyday which for me was very important.
If you are a solo traveler looking to meet new people and for a place full of social activities, this is the hostel for you!!!

Close to the beach, lots of amenities and activities, very nice rooftop. Staff were kind and attentive. Jojo was very helpful at check in and Erik was very helpful with activities and checkout.

Mattresses were too soft, bunk bed too small. Couldn’t even sit upright. There was also chewing gum on the ceiling of my bunk bed…

I really enjoyed my stay at El Misti. It is a fun party hostel with lots of activities. It is in a safe neighborhood and 1 min away from the beach. They offer various tours which I highly recommend to try. The staff are amazing!
My bed sheet had a stain on it. I asked the staff and they quickly replaced my bed sheet, however the new sheet also had a stain.

Very social, nice staff, a lot of activities and nice people. Perfect for solo travelers.
Nothing, however it’s a bit loud if you’re planning on just resting. For socializing and doing activities in Rio it’s amazing though.
