Clean, spacious room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. The location is unbeatable. They have arranged free chair and umbrella with a stand at Ipanema beach, very convenient. Staff is great! Many activities are planned, great place to socialize, specially if you're solo traveling.
No elevator, for some that could be an issue. Shower's great, I'd suggest going up a few seconds/minute on the timer.

Everything. Location, staff, facilities and so forth. The best hostel in Rio. Regarding reception staff Cristal was the best. She helped me with everything I needed in the hostel.
Rooms might be small, but that’s not an important issue.

All the staff is so kind and welcoming Rodrigo, Jordana and all the volunteers made my stay here unforgettable. The location of the hostel is perfect and it’s super social with lots and lots of activities everyday. I would definitely recommend

The beds are comfortable, has many hooks, shelf, good lighting. The bed and bathroom is clean. Bathroom is spacious. The shower has a timer that is a bit too short. If it were a bit longer it wouldn't annoy me.
Location is unbeatable.
Didn't have elevator and the bar is a bit expensive for a hostel..plus, it closes at 11pm.
Unfortunately to get your stuff from under the bed lockers, makes a bit of noise and you end up disturbing others that are trying to rest.

I absolutely loved my stay at El Misti! The atmosphere was amazing, the staff made the experience even better. A special thank you to Effie and Eduardo, they were incredibly helpful, friendly, and always made me feel welcome. They really went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting!

The staff and location are both excellent. Cristal, Paola, Effy, Rodrigo and all the others offer a welcoming and vibrant stay in the heart of Ipanema. I enjoyed the hostel bar, great food, drinks and vibes. The dorms, though not spacious, are well kept and equipped for a private and quiet stay. The hostel also offers many daily activities that got me in touch with some awesome people. As a solo traveler, this place is the best!
No complaints. I had a 10/10 week here.
