Mauricio and Stuart were amazing hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in their house. It’s located in a stunning area with breathtaking views of both the mountains and the ocean.
We used Uber every day to get to the beaches. Usually, it was quite affordable, but occasionally—depending on demand—the prices could be twice as high.
Overall, I highly recommend renting this house when visiting Rio. It’s spacious, very nice, and the hosts are incredibly welcoming. My husband and I truly enjoyed staying there and chatting with Mauricio and Stuart.

We really liked our stay here. The room and bathroom are spacious and very comfortable. The view is beautiful and the breakfast is good. The location is very relaxed and a bit away from the big attractions, so you can come to rest. Advice for visitors: The view from Pedra Bonita (which is close to the hotel) is really magnificent.
No complains at all, only remarks for future guests:
- One of the reasons we choose this hotel is, because of the parking space for the car. You have to make sure to write the hotel after booking and ask for a reserved space, because there are only one or two spaces available. And beware, it is a very narrow and steep parking space, so not the easiest to park at all.
- the owners have a couple of dogs that walk around the house. We really liked that, they were kind! Just keep it in mind in case you are allergic or don’t like it.
- at breakfast it feels as if you are a guest in someone’s house, rather than in a hotel. We liked that feeling and the conversations, but you might have to get used to it.

Stuart and Maurizio are exceptional hosts and great company. Knowledgeable, generous with their time and keen to ensure all guests get the most out of Rio.
The breakfasts are tremendous with fresh and different things to try each day. The location is breathtaking, halfway up a mountain in the jungle with views out to sea.

Outstanding space to relax and lovely hosts (Mauricio & Stuart) who have a wealth of information to help plan your days in Rio.
The house is very nice and in a beautiful area. Easy to get in and out with a car, but also possible to grab a car service to get to from/to the airport, the beach or different parts of town; also to the closest trails up the road, including the Tijuca National Park.
Our room was impressive, with a very comfortable bed, a good shower and a hammock to relax outdoors.
Breakfast was perfect, apart from fruit/granola, eggs and cold meats, Mauricio bakes really nice cakes.

We felt like we had our own villa in Rio. Stuart and Mauricio did not skimp on anything, from the cleanliness of the property, to the delicious breakfasts, to the thoughtful itinerary guides. We also enjoyed spending time with their three lovely dogs. Above all, we were captivated by the natural beauty surrounding this house.
It takes some time to get to the main tourist spots. Considering traffic and parking conditions, we recommend using Uber service.

Absolutely gorgeous home in a beautiful location! Just a short Uber ride from the beach (or a short downhill walk), it’s very easy to get where you want to go in Rio while staying just outside the hustle and bustle of downtown city life. Stuart and Mauricio went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome!
