Very clean and great facilities
The staff weren’t very friendly to travelers or wanting to work. Often times the staff weren’t at reception working and you’d have to go look for them to get help. It seemed like many of the workers were foreigners purely working to have a free place to stay versus actually wanting to work and attend to tourists. Great facilities but disappointed in the attention.

The breakfast at Aquarela is amazing!! Honestly one of the best hostel breakfasts I've ever had, there is so much to choose from and it's really tasty. The volunteers were super friendly and the hostel had an almost familial vibe, which I enjoyed. The female dorm (and I'm sure the others as well) is great, lots of privacy, curtains at the bed and a super clean bathroom in the room. I really liked the neighborhood too, I felt safe, even at night, and Leme beach is super close.
I used the co-working space a lot, and it's perfect: quiet, well lit, well structured to accommodate various people working.
Nothing comes to mind, except that the hostel is a bit on the pricey side (but then again, I stayed over New Years, so...)

Amazing place to stay in close to Copacabana. The staff was lovely and supportive.
The breakfast was great as well. Many choices and fresh fruits.
The place is in a small Favella but local are super nice and local restaurants with great food.
The gym corner is small but has a lovely view.
The only downside is that the hostel is on a hill so it can be quite the steep walk coming back from a long day especially since moto-taxis cannot get you to the top as they don't belong to the Favela. You can get a moto-taxi from the Favela at the start of the road but that would make you pay for a 30 second ride.

The Aquarela Leme stay was great. The atención is incredible, breakfast good.
The hostel is excellent, the only negative thing is the street to get there because of the dirty street that is probably two or three blocks from Copacabana. Even though it is safe, I never feel insecure walking there even at night.

I loved the breakfast, and the rooftop bar. The vibes were always there! The pizza was also delicious. It was a really good experience.
The AC in the room was a little loud, but still doable. To be honest, it was a little bit like white noise so you got used to it quite quickly!

Location is super close to Leme beach. Excellent common areas. It gives a high-end hostel vibe. Staff was so friendly! This was my favorite stay in Rio. I would definitely stay here again. I didn’t mind the fact that the property is in a favela. It felt very safe, neighbors were nice, there are restaurants & convenience stores nearby. I recommend taking the moto taxi at the entrance of the favela. So convenient if you don’t want to walk up the hill!

The hostel is located in a favela but I never once felt uncomfortable or unsafe while there. The Leme area is beautiful with so much to do nearby, and the locals were really sweet. The included breakfast was pretty standard but nice regardless. The hostel is quite clean and the staff were very helpful. I liked that you can order drinks and have them charged to your room. The rooftop area was also a nice place to hangout.
Not necessarily a dislike, but the hostel is located at the top of a very steep hill that many Uber drivers were unwilling to drive to the top of. But if you are up for it, it is a great cardio workout.

Wonderful hostel, with scenic view looking to the sea below. The hostel offered a daily breakfast which was appreciated, and staff was helpful and fantastic to work with. Activities provided that you can hop into, if you wanted to enjoy yourself and learn more about the fantastic life in Rio.
The only sad thing for me was that the climb to the hostel (noted when I booked), I just didn’t realize it would affect how much I would go into town due to this. Bike rides are provided at affordable prices, so it might not be a thing for other travelers. Also, the located is at the lower level of a favela? Or so my taxi diver said? For me, its not what I’m used too.

Conditions could be better for volunteers; better accoms for the amount of work done and the care they take for the hostel and community.

Everything, super dupper social ! Great architecture and view ! Very comfortable dorm, very very bright, light comes from everywhere. Really love this hostel. It’s located on on top of the hills of a very friendly Favela, no reason to be scared.
