The location is ideal, 1 block from Copacabana beach. Apartment complex is secure with doorman 24hrs.
The apartment is very basic. The bedlinen needs to be replaced badly. There is a broken hairdryer in the press (just throw it out) and another that was sparking when plugged in so couldn't use either. Not enough toilet paper and towels for 4 people for a week. The aircon wasn't working for the first few days (it's also a fan more than an aircon). We paid an extraordinary amount for the week as it was Carnaval for a very basic accommodation.

Location is superb. Close to both Copacabana and Ipanema.
The owner is very nice and tries her best to communicate with us even though we dont speak Portuguese.
The bed in the bedroom seems clean, but the 2 sofa beds in the living room are not really clean. No toiletries provided.

Location
Completely need to change the mattress and pillows, they all smelled of the sweat of previous guests. Because there is stuffiness in the air. And the air conditioner was never cleaned, when it is turned on, the air smells of old age even more. Instead of a pillow, I slept on my own things, wrapped in my own towel.

Taxes. My booking was 1/3 more expensive after taxes, so be worry about that. Also, if you booking from other country, owner asks to pay deposit, not with card, you have to do with money transfer like Western Union

Very Good
This is an excellent apartment for a stay in Copacabana by one person or a couple. It has one bedroom with a 2m long double bed, a shower and (very) small kitchen. I think that the sofa in the living room could be used as an additional bed. The location is great, two blocks from the beach so you can easily go in your swimming shorts and flip-flops. It also appears to be a save location (to me at least), in spite of favela's being near. The apartment is secure, with a 24/7 porter at the door. I heard very little to nothing in terms of neighbour noise. Of course, it is in the city so there is the usual city noise, coming from outside. The owner was very friendly and helpful. She does not speak English, so we relied on google translate for communication, but this worked well, communicating mostly through WhatsApp. She is very responsive on any queries.
There are a few smaller downsides: The apartment is a bit spartan in terms of furniture, but this is more often seen in 'warmer' countries where life is more on the streets. There is also not a view to speak off. For me, these were no deal breakers.
