The price was good and the location was close to my meeting.
The hotel is independently operated and it is very clear that they have no idea how to do it, I ordered a diet coke 11h pm to my room (because my minibar only had regular coke) and was informed that nobody could bring it to me and I should order via delivery app and get down to the reception to pick it up. One thing that I was amazed about, was how dirty the hotel was, I mean the floor and the sheets were OK but everything else was a disaster, from a lot of dust (I mean A LOT) on the lights hanging from the ceiling to everything else. I had me changed the room because the first one was impossible to stay due to a hole on the ceiling and falling door handles. But if you want a well located, in a very good price hotel to stay in Rio and your destination is Within Barra da Tijuca neighborhood go for it, although I don't recommend.

Location and breakfast.
Badly maintained, sheets and towels stink to some very strong bleach, bathroom doorknob broken, noisy air conditioning, sheets stained.

Breakfast had large quantities of great and/or average food but could be overcrowded at times Beds were super comfortable, but the bottom sheets were short about a foot long, so either I slept in a diagonal position or I had my toenails catching on the fabric of the mattress so cant really say how sanitary that really is.
AC in the first room I was given wasnt powerful enough to cool down the room so it felt like an oven and couldnt get a room change the next day so I had to wait for the third day to actually start enjoying my stay. This besides the issue with the bottom sheets mentioned above. Also I requested a wake up call upon arrival which didnt happen and I had to skip breakfast to get to an appointment that morning. Then, the only time I decided to use the restaurant to dine the service was really slow for barely having 4 single occupied tables during the time I was there, plus the waiting staff was barely paying attention to the clients and having conversations amongst themselves in an out of the way corner. And finally, when I asked for a couple basic questions I got mixed responses from the front desk staff. One was regarding taxi vs Uber use to move around and get directions on places to visit, and the other was I requested an adapter to plug my laptop and phone chargers, which doesnt require any transformer, only to change the shape of the connection, and they didnt have one nor could provide. So I barely had any battery to reach my appointment the morning after arriving, and had to figure out a way to buy one on my own. In summary I only managed to accomplish about 20% of what I had expected to during my vacation there and it was mostly due to a lack of interest towards the customer or lack of attention to detail from their end.

Breakfast has peak time which is normal however they probably need two islands. One morning we couldn't almost approach the buffet

In fact, it was a great stay. We had appartments on one of the top floors with panoramic floor to ceiling windows, a balcony with astonishing 180 degrees observation area, overlooking the ocean, mountains, the sunset side. There were 2 rooms and two bathrooms in our appartments, it was really spacious. It wasn't clear on booking what kind of room we will be having, the photos were all similar, and since we were celebrating New Year, I wanted to make sure this was really going to be amazing. And it was! The gym is great. With a view! I was aIone there aImost aII the time. The rooftop waterpooI was more of a Iounge passtime for me rather than swimming. Looks amazing. Never wanted to descend. I read some strange comments about the breakfast, none of them corresponded to what I experienced. The breakfast was really good, with a variety of local products and dishes, fresh fruit and Brazilian coffee. Special thanks to wonderful people who greeted me there every morning with their smiles and responded kindly to every smallest demand. It was such a pleasure to start my day seeing them and chitchatting in Portugese!)
There is no efficiency in treating the requests when you call the reception. Nobody was bringing us anything until I went down to the reception and took it/asked about it myself. The Internet is slow and it didn't catch in the bedroom. + that long balcony in our appartments was never cleaned notwithstanding my requests, so I never could walk there barefoot. Thought the room itself was cleaned very well. The bath towels are ancient. The situation that blew my mind completely was when somebody broke into our room in the middle of the night on January 3rd. We heard the sound of the door being opened and saw the light turning on, we got up immediately, shocked and rushed to the door. There was an employee of the hotel standing at the front door, telling us he came to check the lights. I couldn't sleep that night, and nobody responded at the reception. I went to see them in the morning and filed a claim later asking them to check on the cameras what happened and who broke into our appartments at night. Until now I got no official response nor the excuse from the management about that situation. This is beyond my understanding. Only managers in the reception were trying to deal with the situation. Special thanks to Daniel (if I am not mistaken about the name, he is perfect in English) and he was always there and genuinely interested to help us. He went upstairs to check the door with us, checked if the phone worked and reassuared us that it was going to be all right. Notwitstaning this, I must admit this situation was a great minus of the entire trip. I traveIIed aII the continents and it occured onIy here.
