Wonderful
The staff was amazing, very kind and warm
Breakfast was really good
The dorms were very clean
And I loved staying in Botafogo
I will definitely be going back there but for the private rooms
I stayed on the dorms, there is no option for a female only dorm, that would be nice
And the bed was very hard

Nice, clean place, breakfast looked okay but unfortunately my experience was ruined by being made to pay more due to having my partner with me.
Unfortunately I was made to pay nearly twice the price again for my room as I had my partner with me, even though I was able to pull up booking.com in front of the receptionist, and show that the room was the same price for 1 or 2 people. There are no extra sheets to wash etc and we didn't have breakfast. Would have enjoyed staying here if it wasn't for that. Trying to resolve through booking.com

Location was decent and the day staff/ cleaning staff were very kind !
We primarily decided to book this place for the buffet.. and the early staff guy and another gentleman who said he didn't even work there wouldn't let us eat.. even though out booking said buffet included.. had to pick a fight with these two 3 of the four days... to the point we just gave up on it.. on top of it we got sick.. so some tea etc from that would have been amazing. Those two just made the struggle 10x worse.. so yeah they need to have two separate listings if they aren't allowing the second building to eat.. how TF are we supposed to know about that rule prior to booking?

The location is great and the room was very big
The room was very badly decorated. It had great potential, was large and had many beds, but the furniture was overall old and damaged, and the lighting was bad. With new furniture and some pieces of decoration it would be perfect!

Superb location and a clear view of Christ Redeemer. Breakfast is well catered with plenty options (although the same each day). Friendly staff. We were able to store luggage after check out.

Great location in Botofogo. Property secure with 2 outside locking doors. Room basic but spacious. It is just a basic room but this reflected in the price. Bed comfortable. A few reviews noted stained sheets but this appears to have been rectified as ours were fine.. Would recommend requesting room 107 as this one does have a window to outside. The breakfast down at the other hotel was excellent and staff there very friendly and helpful.
There is a musty smell possibly from the bathroom that came and went we dealt with it by opening the window
The cleaning service to empty bins and supply clean towels didn’t come on two of the days but we managed.
