The old style hotel has beautiful grounds, and it's very close to the town centre and local attractions. The ladies who gave us our massage were so lovely and the massage was amazing.
No tea or coffee facilities in the room, the surfaces were dirty when we arrived, our room was right under the dining room so every meal time the noise above us was unbearably loud, there was no glasses in the room for water, the windows were covered with shutters, not glass so the noise from passers-by was loud late in to the night, and our phone was broken in our room and wasn't fixed. I get that this is an old building but I've stayed in much nicer refurbed old hotels. I'm very perplexed by all these people saying it was amazing! Definitely not our experience.

Beautiful building
Bedroom acoustic terrible. Could not sleep. Staff very umprepared. Sauna cold. Poor amenities. Not worth value. Bedroom courtains and puffs gave allergies.

Excellent location. Walking distance to all historic buildings. Super friendly staff, clean, luxurious, with a delicious and well-served breakfast. You can also have lunch, snacks, and dinner at the hotel restaurant.

A unique hotel in a historic Victorian-era building. Huge rooms with tall ceilings, beautiful wood floors, huge comfortable bed. Breakfast was amazing -- great service, huge range of choices. Hotel restaurant is decorated with unique tropical-themed murals. We ate dinner there one night -- excellent. House is set in a large tropical garden
Our room was in a separate building from the main house. Pool is tiny. The facilities are all slightly "tired" - understandable in such an old mansion.

Hidden taxes at checkout beyond the price agreed in booking. Not state taxes but "hotel service taxes".
