Exceptional
As Americans in a new country, they made us feel very welcome when we arrived and we were always excited to return to the hotel after exploring the city. My wife and I jokingly started calling it home after a couple of days. I can't give the breakfast a high enough score. It was incredible and included with the room! There was such a wide variety of foods, fruits and juices to try.
Just a walk across the street to the beach. You could also rent bicycles from the hotel and ride them along the beachfront and over to the neighboring beaches. Also, just across the street was a dinner complex that gave you access to 5 different restaurants including seafood and tapioca.
The pool was fun, and the swim-up bar also had a food menu if you wanted to eat lunch there. We enjoyed the sauna as well. Never tried the gym, but they had adequate equipment in there and it was open most of the day.
Another bonus, there are 2 pharmacies that are within a block away (quick walk) in case you forgot something at home or want to grab some bottled water to keep in the fridge in the room.
Overall, if we come back to Fortaleza, one less decision to make will be where we stay, because we would without a doubt stay here again.

Disappointing
Breakfast and location were great.
Property had alot of maintenance going on so it was noisy during the day. The pipes in the walls are noisy at random times of the night and can wake you up. The pictures are magnificent, the property is not as nice as portrayed in the pictures. The on-property restaurant was so-so

The pool was dirty. The gym is very small and the machines are super old and bad functioning.

The breakfast options were good and the staff spoke English, which can be very helpful. The rooms are pretty comfortable and the receptionists are friendly and willing to accommodate your needs.
The check-in process was just too long, which makes no sense when the addresses are incomplete and wrong anyways. We had two different reservations there and upon return, the check-in was just as long, again. It shouldn't stop you from getting there, but when you arrive with a group that has been on the road for many hours and most of them were sick, it can be difficult.

The hotel is amazing and the staff is super helpful as I needed to print a document they got it done so fast and when it started raining they gave me a huge umbrella that’s helped a lot.
Also the location is the best right by the main Beira mar spot so it was very convenient to be there!! Definitely going back there!!!

We just wanted a room for the day before flying out of Fortaleza at 23.00. It’s was reasonably priced, very well situated in a safe area close to the beach and with a big pool.

Good location and comfortable beds. Special thanks for Yuri, he was very helpful.
A lot of the staff didn't seem very friendly to me. There was a lot of noise coming from the hallway with children running and screaming late at night. And during check out there were several taxi drivers in the reception area, harassing customers to choose taxi instead of Uber, even after many no's from me they continued to insist, and no reaction of employees regarding this prevails in the hotel premises

Very bad trained staff in reception, check-in and check-out took me ages to be finalised. Card key never worked and during my quick stay, I could get in into my room just because I asked some cleaning staff (who work really well and are kind people) to help me get access to my room. In my room, I could not access the menu to order restaurant service and the telephone was not working properly either!

I booked a sea view apartment
The price was £256 quite a lot for Brazil, expected a bit more luxury.
Room was comfortable but bland, felt too corporate.
Thought I had a balcony, but hit that wrong, really disappointed there wasn’t one, my fault for not redo g the description.
Staff were lovely, very attentive, couldn’t fault them.
Breakfast disappointing, was hoping for baby and eggs.
It felt like a conference hotel.

Wonderful
I travel with my son to fortaleza for a wedding, the hotel was recommended by the weeding planner. We could not be happier. We truly enjoyed our stay at Mareiro, very good location, friendly staff, amazing breakfast offerings, the restaurant is a very good value, everything we ordered was well prepared and delicious, and prices are very reasonable.
Over all a excellent experience, we'll definitely be back.
