Clean location, friendly host.
We found the car in the morning with a small dent and some paint damage on the door. It was parked in the official parking lot.

The room was very spacious and accommodated us with twin beds and an additional sofa. The location was excellent with easy access to the main train station and the city center by metro and tram. The tram stop was conveniently located right in front of the hotel. The receptionist was friendly, helpful and welcoming.
The only downside was the beds. Every time we moved, the bed linen would slide and the mattress would move as well, so we had to keep adjusting everything throughout the night. As a result, we didn't sleep well. We hope the hotel can find a solution to prevent the mattresses from moving. This was the only issue during our stay, but it had a significant impact on our overall experience.

The man who checked us in (owner?) was delightful and personable. He had good recommendations for things for us to see and do in Sofia. The courtyard area offers lots of seating for some fresh air. Our room had what we needed for the one night we were there and the location is convenient to the train that runs directly to the airport (800 meter walk, then 25 minutes on the train), which was a major factor for us in choosing this place.
The bathroom situation, even knowing that we were walking into one that does not have a shower separated from the toilet and sink, was surprisingly small with a soggy (flooded once too many times) floor just outside. It was hard to feel clean after that experience. The outlets were not placed at places convenient for charging, which is a small thing until you both want to have full charge on your phones the night before a long day of travel.

Nothing, the bathroom flooded and I was blamed and kicked outside with treat not to return me the money.
Plus they entered my room without me being present.
Also I had very bad stomach pain that day and I had to search new hotel the evening and couldn't have any rest.
I was threatened by the owner on the phone too.
And blamed for not working bathroom.

Great location. The room was very spacious and spotless. They had access to a good car park nearby which was safe and easy to access.

Staff was excellent! For some reason the dates that got booked were a couple days ahead of schedule and they accommodated me unlike a couple of other hotels that were inflexible. They helped me learn about public transportation and history. Would definitely recommend

Our stay at The Generaator Sofia was good! The location is great, with Lidl right across the street, a metro station less than a minute walk and the tram right by the entrance. It is located in an immigrant area though. Walkable distance to the center of Sofia. The room was incredibly spacious, felt like a small apartment.
The cleaners came every 3-4 days during our 9 day stay and only came to replace towels and bedsheets, so the room wasn't very clean. The beds were very small, smaller than the standard twin bed so we didn't get a very good night sleep. At first we also got blankets that barely covered us so that was uncomfortable but later they were changed by the staff to better blankets.
