Only the location and free parking was OK. The receptionist was also nice person. They gave us a a 20% discount to the restaurant because of the renovation process.
They are renovating, and they inform us about that when we arrived. Everything in the room was old and very used.

Very Good
Decent hotel which may not be a modern accomodation but certainly a VFM one. The variety of breakfast and free private parking are much appreciated given the price and the rooms probably show outdated but are spacious and clean.

The location was superb. There is a large parking lot.
The room was outdated. It smelled outdated. The door of the room should be lifted to be closed. The furniture looked like it was used for more than 30 years. The mini bar was loud. The bathroom door opens spontaneously and the handle detaches randomly. The bath looked dirty. The towel holder was about to come out of the wall. The page of the hotel says that rooms are soundproof - they most certainly are NOT. If you want to heat up the room (for example when you are coming out of the shower) you have to turn on the air-conditioning which in accordance with everything else looks like it has been there for more than 3 decades uncleaned and when turned on was extremely loud. The staff was absent from the breakfast, there was no one to ask for anything. The breakfast was with highly restricted options, which combined with the ambience in the whole hotel makes up for a good decision-making exercise - should I risk it here or go to Billa and get a triangle sandwich. This is the first time I have not been asked by the staff if everything with my stay was okay - maybe because they do really know what their hotel offers.

Close to tram line and grocery
First floor rooms are renovated but second floor rooms are horribly old, stinky, and broken down. Rooms smelled like old vomit and felt very dirty, shower is so small you can’t move in it, and the hair dryer has holes in the tubing and doesn’t actually work. Night staff is horribly rude, other staff is perfectly nice. The buffet breakfast had hair in the cheese.

The food at breakfast was very good, the room was clean, there is a large parking in front of the hotel. The door of the room and the door to the balcony weren't very sturdy, they weren't very well fixed. All in all, I would come back if I had to travel again to Sofia.

This is mixed experience. I spent thefe 2 nights. The first night was a nightmare. We got aroom on the 3rd floor which is old and poorly maintained. The air condition didn't work in a warm night, and we didn't sleep all that night. We complaied on that evening, but they couldn't find a solution for that night. On the next morning, we asked for early leave, and then they offer another room on ground floor. That room was much better, it resides in renewed section, everything was new and well function.
The old section of the hotel is terrible.

The whole floor smelled of baby's vomit and seemed to be in our room before. It was really unpleasant. Another room might have locked a dog inside and he barked until late night. Horrible!

in 30+ years of travel ive never experienced staff as helpful, solicitous and professional as the front desk staff (both the manand the woman) at Hotel Forum. When notified that we’d be leaving before the breakfast service, they offered to prepare something without us asking and they were quite generous. very grateful to them. Nice location too.
