The location. Lots of outlets to charge my phone.
Being assigned the top bunk and not knowing I had the top bunk before arriving late. Dealing with an irate roommate. The bathroom floor was always wet. I had to pay with cash because the card machine was offline.

Staff friendly and nice and all speak great English.
The common area (with kitchen, couches and long tables, and a pool table) opens from 8am till midnight. Daytime vibe feels like a coffee shop and towards the midnight it feels like a happy-hour bar. Very lively but not overly noisy.
There is a book shelf next to the reception desk. Pretty good collections from guests all over the world over the years.
There is a shower room attached to the dorm room so you can choose it over the common bathroom/shower room.
Kitchen is not available between midnight to 10am (also closed between 8-10am as the hostel offers paid breakfast) so you either prepare the breakfast the night before or have a late breakfast.
Bathroom cleanliness is average, given the fact that it's shared with all the guests. Same for kitchen.

Very good breakfast for 5 EUR. Location is great. Nice common area with kitchen.
The room was noisy, I felt like sleeping in a corridor. It was actually two rooms with one door, and to get to the other room, one has to pass through mine.

Clear instructions for check-in, friendly staff, clean room (we had it in another building within a 5-minute walk, a separate room with amenities in our room, kettle, mugs, towels, hot water, electric heater). In the evening, the lobby has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with a shared kitchen. Communication and acquaintance with young people who are united by a passion for travel and new experiences and acquaintances.

Disappointing
The common place looked good but far from the actual room allocated. The gesture of upgrading the room with a private bath was nice but unfortunately, I think, the room I booked with the shared bathroom in the picture looked more promising and spacious, and we would not have faced the issues mentioned below.
The washroom was dirty, water everywhere on the floor. Also the shower drainage was stuck and each time during the shower it became a swimming pool. It was strangely humid in the room that the bed felt like damped all the time.

Quiet comfortable place in the heart of downtown Sofia. Privacy curtains on bunks. Washing can be done here. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast is good. Very hot showers with good pressure.
No towels provided.

The pub crawl was amazing! Such a nice way to meet people and the staff were so friendly. We stayed in the private rooms, although they are separate from the main hostel, the distance isn't as big of a deal as other reviews make it out to be. The breakfast was good value too. Overall, a very nice hostel.
The lock on the shower room didn't work, which isn't ideal with a shared bathroom.

The location was very central and the room was spacious and clean.
The mattress was quite hard and not very comfortable. The walls are not soundproof so you can hear everything from the other rooms or people going to the bathroom, kitchen etc. If you're a light sleeper i wouldn't recommend it. If you can sleep no matter what, then it's ok.
