Hostel Mostel Sofia is set in a renovated building from the 19th century, enjoying a quiet location in the center of Sofia. A modern, shared kitchen is at guests’ disposal. Serdika underground railway station is a 10-minute walk away. The comfortably furnished rooms have private and shared facilities. All rooms have access to free Wi-Fi and shared computers are available upon request. Guests may use the common living room which features a billiard table. A communal washing machine and dryer are available, while lockers are provided in the dormitory rooms. Hairdryer and ironing facilities are upon request. Hostel Mostel has a beautiful patio where guests can relax in nice weather, as well as a shared dining area. A 24-hour front desk and a bar can be found on site. Pub crawls and one-day excursions can be organized at the reception. Sofia Hostel Mostel is a 25-minute walk from the bus station. Clubs, bars and restaurants can also be reached within a short walk. The bed was ok. There was hot water. Free hot tea.
When I came in my bed was already occupied by another person. There was some mistake so they gave me another bed. when I tried to thank the person at the reception for helping me in Bulgarian, I accidentally said spasiva (Russian) instead of blagodarya. He got very offended and angry and said I was disrespecting him and threatened to beat me up. I kept saying I was sorry and that it was a simple mistake and that I had no intention of disrespecting him and that Im not even Russian. he refused to show me my room and kept threatening to hit me. I didn’t know what to do as it was already 1:00 am so I waited there until I asked him again and eventually he showed me my room In a very rude manner.

Nice staff and good location to explore the city. Very cheap.
Honestly, this was probably one of the worst hostels I've ever stayed at. My room was at a different location than the hostel, it was a very old building that looked abandoned from the inside. Didn't feel very safe for a female solo traveler. Then the room, the beds were fine, not comfortable but fine. No AC, which is not great with 35 °C. The bathroom was just awful, dirt on the floor, shower stalls were tiny and very hot inside. No place to hang your towel or clothes, toilets were dirty as well. You also pay extra for a towel, most hostels give you them for free in my experience. If you need a cheap place to stay for 1 or 2 nights in Sofia, I still wouldn't recommend this place.

Very close to everything. Room was away from main hostel in different building.

The place looks really well managed, they clean bathroom, showers and rooms several times a day (there is a schedule) and the staff is on top of things, very nice people. Nice environment, good mattress and with the curtains the bed feels private. There are safe lockers available with their own combination (no need to have your own lock). Well located

The location was excellent and made it easy to explore Sofia. The hostel had a great overall vibe, with comfortable beds and reasonably sized dorms. I also liked the common area. It was a welcoming social space, and it was easy to meet other travellers there. Overall, it had a friendly atmosphere and was an enjoyable place to stay.
The biggest downside was the air conditioning on the top floor. It barely worked, and with only one fan, the rooms became very hot, especially during warmer weather. The bathrooms and showers were adequate for a hostel but could definitely be improved. One of the shower controls was broken and stuck on ice-cold water, making that shower unusable.

I liked the location of this hostel. The bathrooms and showers were clean every day too.
A bit hot every single night even with the A/C on. This hostel had the potential to be more of a sociable hostel but there was something missing. I think they could have held some nightly events to bring the place together a little more.

I had a great stay at Hostel Mostel Sofia. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The hostel has a nice atmosphere, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location is excellent – within walking distance of the city center and public transport. It was a great value for money, and I would definitely stay here again.
Nothing significant. Everything met my expectations, and the staff did their best to make my stay enjoyable.
