The gym is not good if that is important for you. It is not just small, but there is no water or much equipment. No yoga mats.

Location
The hotel itself was fine, but the reception staff was rude and unhelpful. Their attitude made the check-in & out experience uncomfortable. This is an area that clearly needs improvement.

Comfortable beds, great buffet breakfast, and staff was very helpful. The restaurant staff would warm up my daughter's left overs as we had no microwave. The staff gave good directions and always wanted to do a good job. The bathroom was very nice with a chair to sit in and grab bars for safety. I enjoyed the long counter by the sink for our toiletries. This was the best bathroom we have ever had in Europe.
Our room was near a staff staging area for the banquet rooms, two nights it was loud until midnight. Really awful to sleep. Also, only nonsmoking area for restaurant was inside but it was busy one night with a party, so we had to eat outside, and no place was saved for nonsmokers. My daughter got a lungful of smoke and was sick for one day after this, having to take inhalers and medicine as she is allergic to smoke. One staff member was "rude" to us about this and even said he hoped they never made a place for nonsmokers outside. We tried to eat in the little cafe but that staff said we could not order from the restaurant in there and also a man would stand and smoke in the doorway with door open. The smoke issue is very rude to most people, there should at least be a small place outside where smokers can't sit and make folks sick. Non smokers are forced inside or they have to get sick by the smoke. Also the dinner food we got that night was not cooked well but it was like 9 pm and too late for us to go anywhere else.

Location is great, room was really big, bathtub and shower in the room
I am not a complaining type, hope the hotel takes my feedback as constructive criticism.
-no ramp is available anywhere at the premises. If you have a baby trolley you will have to work your way through the steps to the entrance and to the elevators every time. Sad thing is nobody seems to care to help at all. Same with the suitcases, you need to climb stairs.
-elevator door shuts suddenly and sensors need a second to step in. If there is someone in between, they will be hit quite hardly before doors open back
-rooms are not clean at all, especially the sofas are not cleaned for long time! (When you have kids they tend to do gymnastics on pillows that’s how we found out)
-pillows are paper thin
-hair dryer is so weak it took 15 minutes to dry my 7 year old daughter’s hair
-no windows no fresh air in the place which gives us headaches every morning
-there was only one thing that could take all these away which is hospitality but it was missing also!
You expect at least a smile and some greeting in a five star hotel. Nobody really asked us how we are doing during the stay and at the checkout the lady didn’t ask how was our stay etc.
-€30 per day for car park? This is really too much

The location is perfect, in the center of the old city, 5-10 minutes by walk from the Vitosha street.

I loved the location, history and spacious rooms. Left with good emotions.
One thing I didn’t like was the staff being strictly punctual. At ten am, the breakfast buffet closes, my husband wanted a last coffee from the coffee machine at 10:02. The staff said you need to pay, it is after 10. It wasn’t even 10:05. Other than that, my entire stay was great.

The location is great and the room was comfortable
We stayed in the corner suite.
The room was big, but the layout was not very good. I was expecting more attentive and proactive service, but I had to remind the staff several times about some amenities I thought would be provided automatically. I personally feel uncomfortable asking many times about such things, so in the end I decided to stop asking.

Room was amazingly large and we had two double beds. So spacious.
Breakfast was expensive and not great. Eg hard rolls and various colors and consistency scrambled eggs.
