The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The location is convenient, and the staff provided good service throughout our stay. Very good breakfast was offered.
Unfortunately, there were several aspects that did not meet our expectations. The food was acceptable, but considering the Van der Valk reputation, I expected a higher quality dining experience. We had also booked a meal arrangement that was promoted via email with a discount, but this offer was not honored during our stay. The financial aspect is not the issue for us, but it is disappointing when advertised offers are not respected. If an arrangement is promoted, guests should be able to rely on it being available.
The biggest disappointment was the wellness offering. The Booking.com presentation create the impression that the hotel has its own spa and wellness facilities. In reality, the well-known Thermes de Spa wellness center is a separate facility, requires an additional fee, and is located nearby. This was not clearly communicated on the Booking.com page. The hotel itself only has a small sauna in the gym area, where swimwear is required, which is very different from what most people would consider a true wellness experience.
Had this been communicated more clearly before booking, we would likely have chosen a different hotel. While the room, location, and service were good, the misleading wellness expectations and the issue with the meal arrangement left us disappointed overall.

I did like it's location. It was right next to the thermes de spa which I was also going to. At check-in, they even made sure I knew about it and that I could go to the spa without leaving the hotel. They were also ready to help me set up a reservation.
I didn't like how I had to put my card in for getting power to the room. I had some work stuff going on and needed my laptop on, but I could not actually do it.

We were forced to pay for extra bed for our child despite the booking stated no extra charches, the room was booked for 3 of us. Hard and rude communication with reception, they blamed Booking platform. Unwilling to provide any receitpts on demand. Trying to charge twice for SPA.

The hotel was clean and modern, with nice elevators and a comfortable atmosphere. We appreciated the complimentary coffee, water and tea in the room, and the room itself was well-equipped with everything we needed: a safe, hairdryer, ironing facilities, TV, air conditioning, phone, and a bathroom hood.
The breakfast was very rich and offered a wide variety of options, which we really enjoyed. However, the dinner options were a bit limited.
We received only one badge key for our room, which was inconvenient. The badge is required to operate the elevators and also to activate the lights in the room. This made it difficult when one person needed to go downstairs while the other stayed in the room.
Additionally, several extra charges felt excessive: parking costs €20 per day, an extra bed for children is €25, and bringing a dog also costs €25.

Excellent hotel in an excellent location and proximity to the Spa. There was a beautiful scenic trolley ride from the hotel to the spa and restaurants/shopping all in walking distance. Added bonus, Belgian bier is the best in the world and I always enjoy visiting.

The price charged for charging my electric vehicle. At 0.82 euros it is compatible with fast chargers on the motorway. Not a 22kw charger.
