Mercure Oostende is located only 820 feet from the sandy beach and from the Casino Kursaal. The hotel is located close to the main shopping area of Ostend. Unlike other Mercure hotels I have stayed at, this particular one did not leave quite the same impression. It was still good, but felt rather ordinary. First of all, I would say that the breakfast at other Mercure hotels I’ve visited was much better. The reception was also very busy, probably because of the large number of tourists. It wasn’t even possible to arrange a late check-out for just one extra hour, even for an additional fee. Overall, it didn’t quite have the Mercure feeling I’ve experienced at other locations — except for the familiar scent. That said, it is still a good-quality hotel overall.

Location excellent.
Dated Hotel NOT anywhere near 4 Star or Mercure standard - think some sort of Ibis. So called Superior Room and bathroom was, to put it kindly, distinctly ungenerous. No problem with staff, but the presence of a someone's bicycle propped up in the dining room every day (!) said something else.....

Room was tiny and no view - overseeing the back of building no natural light - I was also charged £27 on top of the amount paid for an extra breakfast even though I paid full amount - parking is also expensive £27

Zero sleep all night, quality of cheap hotel, for a price of 230eur for a night. Bathroom too small. View from the window into other people's terraces and ventilation equipment - no sun at all. Very disappointed, don't recommend to anyone.
