Staff are absolutely fantastic and very welcoming. I would stay here again for the vibes alone! Breakfast was simple but good. Location is perfect and the building is beautiful. Extra shout-out to the staff for letting me hang around and work in one of the conference rooms after checking out.
I wouldn't stay here again during the summer. My room was in the top floor and there is no air conditioning. The window in the room had been left closed, and had a black window shade that had absorbed heat all day long and radiated it into the room. What's worse is that the window could only be opened about 3 inches so it was impossible to get any airflow, and the tiny weak fans provided were not cutting it even though they gave me an extra one. The staff were apologetic and said the windows in the roof can only open minimally for safety reasons. But it was so hot in my room that my makeup actually began to melt in its containers. The room really was barely habitable.

Pleasant
This is an academic conference center that also rents room to individuals. The rooms are spartan (no TV, no water kettle) but very clean and quiet. The location is excellent, just a short walk to restaurants and shops. The breakfast was excellent.
Our room did not have air conditioning and it became uncomfortably warm (80F/27C) on a mild day/evening. The floor had a heater vent that seemed to be generating some additional heat. We felt we could not leave the window wide open when a bee flew in. The desk clerk offered us a weak but very noisy fan that only helped a little.

Wonderful
Even though the hotel is a bit old, it was pretty enough for what I’m looking for. Also the room view was stunning
The beds are a bit uncomfortable and the variety of the breakfast is not so wide.

Dirt on the wall, no sleepers, thin walls, not enough plug in to charge your laptop and phone at the same time. Breakfast options are limited.

Excellent location, clean and tidy, welcoming staff, good breakfast (note the differences in times between weekend and weekday), secure bike storage. Would certainly go back.
Only thing to change would be the inclusion of a kettle for tea and coffee in the room.
