This 16th-century former convent offers 4-star facilities and an attractive interior only 919 feet from the Oude Markt in the historic center of Leuven. Good location, but the hotel seems to be living off past reputation.
Being initially given a lower standard room than what had been booked and pre-paid. General lack of cleanliness, including black mold in the shower.

Great location for exploring Leuven. Good underground parking - but pricey. Front of House staff - tried to help, but they have limited options!
We were in the older section. First room was in the roof. Dark and musty, not like any of the photos advertised. Bathroom dated, no toiletries (other than basic liquid soap) - unless you ask for them! Furniture worn and needs updating. Beds were comfy (quite soft) We were moved to a room on the first floor... Second room - was brighter, and furniture not so worn - but bed was really hard!!! (House keeping tried to rectify this by adding a mattress topper..) Still no additional toiletries etc. Internet is free - but super slow. Breakfast - no 'light option' - so 25 EUR each! Bar/Terrace - not always open - and the courtyard terrace wasn't even set up. Garden area - just a plain lawn with a tree and bench in the middle - could have been so much nicer!

Very close to central squares and restaurants but quiet at the same time.
Car park was unavailable and we had the impression it was unavailable most of the time (don't advertise it then). Bar was closed. Shampoo etc was in a small sachet and nothing special. Why not do something nice in a refill bottle? Window frames mouldy. Not the same feel as on the website. We thought we'd found something special but it was rather underwhelming and not quite worth the money.

The hotel was beautiful and the grounds were well kept. The reception staff were excellent - very helpful and informative. The room was lovely and clean but small (it was described as 'cozy' so it was in line with expectations).
The massive amount of roadworks made finding the hotel incredibly difficult - admittedly this was beyond the hotel's control. The restaurant / bar were only open for what seemed to be a very short period of time so we had no choice but to go elsewhere.
