The building is very nice. Located in Heverlee which is a suburb of Leuven. There is a train stop about a 12 minute walk from the lodge that you can use to go to Leuven or other cities. Otherwise it is about an hour walk into Leuven. The lodge has a nice breakfast that has a wide variety of foods. I am gluten free and they provided me with gluten free bread. My room was in the historic lodge building. I loved the architecture of the building. The bathrooms could use a bit updating. The lighting also needs some attending as I had to use my flashlight because the lighting also needs outside my room and to the staircase was broke. The staff were friendly and arranged my transport back to the airport. I especially appreciate the 24/7 service desk and peaceful location.
I think some of the facilities need updating and maintenance . The lighting and A/C need maintenance.

Very polite helpful staff. Secure underground parking at a reasonable cost. We stayed in the new section which seemed fairly new and built to a good standard. There was no kettle in the room when we arrived but they immediately supplied one when we asked
There was nothing serious that we didn’t like but !! We did feel that it was minimalist design before function. There was nowhere for suitcases so they ended up on the floor! Virtually no storage. A small rail with some coat hangers over a small unit with a couple of shelves. The soap dispenser in the shower was at the opposite end to the shower head! Why ? There was an electric heater in the bathroom which was nice to have but it was placed right next to the toilet so you had to turn it off to use the toilet ( there was enough room and a long enough lead to mount it further away!!)

The only good thing is the location.
The accommodations and management were so cheap. Only one lamp on the night stand and the chord was bare showing the wire inside. The linens were not only uncomfortable but they only fit the top of a single bed, If you were a bigger person you wouldn't be covered. I went to the bar and asked for water and they resisted. The sparkling water was $7. I just can't believe how shabby the furniture was for the price. The antique wardrobe was nice but other than that it could've belonged I'm a secondhand store. NOT worth the price. I wish I took pictures to warn others.

Nice location by the university and short walk into the main area of Leuven. The rooms we had were in a separate block from the main hotel but that was fine. If it had been raining it may have been a bit inconvenient since it wasn’t covered. Nice outdoor seating areas in different parts of the hotel.

Our room was old and outdated (Room 1), the mattress was TERRIBLE (springs sticking out, loud, I’ve slept on more comfortable mattresses in student dorms and hostels), pillows were old and lumpy, drain made noises all night. We barely slept and got up with back pain. There are MUCH nicer hotels in Leuven for the same price or less- this was a total rip off and nothing like the pictures online!! The staff were also unfriendly and unwelcoming - they made it seem like we were inconveniencing them by checking in and out. Will not stay here again.

Wonderful
We stayed only one night in this hotel... and we are very happy with our choice. The staff is very friendly and helpful; easy and fast check-in. We liked the quiet location and the beautiful surroundings with 3 restaurant options just across the street. Parking is quite easy in a nearby street and is free of charge. Reaching the city center took us about 20 minutes on foot; we got a little bit lazy on the way back and took bus number 2 which left us right across the street to the hotel. Easy, easy! Our room was very spacious, spotless clean and comfortable with its en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. Overall, we found the value provided by Hotel The Lodge Heverlee to be very good in the context of the many places we visited during our trip in Belgium. We highly recommended!
The mattress was a little bit too soft to our taste and the room a little bit dark, but these were not big issues. WiFi in the room was surprisingly bad though.
