We are returning customers to the Marriott in Ghent. The price is decent, the location is prime, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I do find the breakfast a bit pricy for what it offers. We also dined in the evening at the restaurant, food was really delicious and nice variety menu, portions a bit too small (but then again we’re good eaters haha). The rooms are very spacious and neat. I do find a bit slippery, the only thing missing for me was a magnifying mirror for my makeup. We ordered quite a few times room service and I do find this should not include extra 9euros. The rooms were clean, although the cleaning lady didn’t wash, replace coffee mugs in 2 days. But, in all we are always very pleased, and will definitely be back again. With all the tiny remarks, I do highly recommend this hotel.Almost forgot, thank you to Stephanie and staff for decorating our room last minute with a lovely voucher and note for my husband’s bday.
Replacing the coffee mugs wasn’t done daily.

Location was the best. Plus the lobby area and the Poppi Bar were very nice. The rooms were modern and comfortable.

Excelent location in the historic heart of Ghent City.
We really enjoy the experience to stay in the center. The building is very nice, the breakfast good and we where able to park our car.

The location is superb! The lobby cafe/bar was excellent and convenient. The beds were super comfortable and the room was outfitted perfectly for our needs. Being able to walk right out onto the river was just next level neat.

the location
The hotel was being refurbished and we weren't told about this until we arrived. We were offered a voucher for a free drink at the bar for the 'inconvenience'. The room we had booked
was too noisy because of drilling and sawing noises to be in from 9am - 5pm.
The alternative room we were shown was just as bad. Rather than offer a discounted rate when we upgraded to a quieter room that had already been refurbished we had to pay the full price. The room smelled strongly of paint and adhesive so we had to keep the windows open and use a fan. The floor was dirt with sanding dust.
