Poor
This was a basic hotel with no frills, but the staff were very rude and unhelpful.

Poor
Close to the train station.
The towels had brown spots on them. The duvet had no cover. Dust and lint on the bed before use. Carpet floors = not cleaned properly Thin walls, you can hear everything from the rooms next to yours. The noise from the train tracks is very loud, so if youre a light sleeper; good luck. The reception is basically a hallway with a window and a vending machine. The staff did not smile once, the lady at reception should do a class on how to talk to customers, did not seem very friendly.

Room was clean and bed comfortable. Bathroom was also good and clean. Was great to be able to open a window.
Nothing bad just more of a nice bonus would be a bug screen in the window

Good position, clean room, free parking.
We had a little misunderstanding about breakfast. As it was an exta, we thought we should confirm by the evening before whether we would have it, instead they expected us to say if we wouldn't have it. At the end we paid just the ones we had, so it was fine, but be careful.

7 min from the train station. Its a decent budget hotel w large room (room 209), large bathroom w nice towels, very clean. Comfy bed and pillows. My room was quiet - up some stairs- but faces a utility parking lot that on a weekday might rev up early. Its a bit funky- bright red wall and black pleather couch but for a clean and well located budget hotel it was fine. Owner Hilde is a bit brusque but was very helpful helping me make the most of my short time in Ghent.
Not much around it. Station is very close but no stores. No kettle in room. Decor is old

Disappointing
Nothing
-It is dirty. (Mold and yellow stains in the shower...stains in the bed covers... Etc) -The whole hotel smells musty and old. -For some reason the only have extra large bedsheets (no singles). Separate bedsheets means two bigger than kingsize (mostly on the floor...) -staff seemed to be always annoyed, even before we started complaining about many things. Id say they hope to hook you in with all the extras... Because they get non of the basics right.

Wonderful
Great location, few min from the main train station, easy to find.
This is a little, modest family hotel. Lady on the reception (owner, I believe) is really nice and helpful. Although near the train station, we did not hear the noice from the street/station. Room and bathroom are clean. Bad is comfortable, we slept great.
We walked to the centre and back, app 25 min.
Breakfast could be of more variety.

clean but very old building. you can almost hear everything your neighboring room says. If you have sensitive ear absolutely not recommended to stay here.

Wonderful
Excellent staff extremely helpful at check in. Pointing us i right direction with tips & advice on local street map for our very short stay in Ghent. the parking is first come first served but we were lucky & got an empty spot & therefore this is a big plus! a triple room that was clean comfortable at a great price including parking, this place is a winner
nothing to dislike in our very short time here so it's more of an awareness point that other travellers should know in advance - the obvious point is that it is next to the train station, so some noise should be expected....but we knew that & actually slept very well. in the summer with windows open it's possible that the noise could be greater.
