Very Good
Friendly staff, good breakfast, good location to visit UZ Gent hospital.
Reservation was not in the system when we arrived and parking / car was not registered so we had to call the front desk every time we left the parking lot. Charging for electric vehicles is convenient but only accepted credit cards (no charging network cards).

Disappointing
Breakfast was indeed very good. The room is cozy and despite being limited in space, everything is more or less usable. Kitchenette is sufficient for a short stay.
The hotel and their associates tried to scam me four times. They sold or gave away my booking data along with full personal information to some off shore company in India which tried to scam me over whatsapp, email and SMS (!) using the correct information and booking numbers, written in perfect English prepared by an AI assistant over the course of few days just after the booking. Then, during the check in, a very unpleasant lady insisted I pay parking for the whole stay despite using the car just to immediately drop off the baggage and passengers. She insisted on "pay first and we may or may not refund you later since life is full of unpleasant surprises". When I declined, she still insisted I pay some random, unexplained, additional amount of money since "the room has variable rate". When I declined this as well, she finally gave up and said "clear it with the manager tomorrow". Luckily, the manager tomorrow was a gentleman who understood everything, apologized and that was it. No extra charges, no issues, just like its supposed to be with booking.com. Afterwards, everything was well; but the initial contact was a very, very bitter experience. Enough for me to never again book nor visit this hotel.

Disappointing
The staff were ok, although the person at the front desk that confirmed the #19 bus served the stop across the street, did not mention the bus does not come by on weekends (the day we asked about).
The toilet in our room had some kind of goo running down the outside front of it. Also one of our coffee cups had dirt in the bottom. When left it upright for the cleaning staff to replace, they simply put it back beside the kettle (still dirty).
The hotel was terribly understaffed at breakfast as baskets for bread were completely empty, bowls for fruit salad had nothing but juice in the bottom, counters were covered in bits of scrambled eggs, there was no cutlery or napkins, and tables were piled with dirty dishes.

The hotel is new, the room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Although I don't like curtains in the bathroom because I don't like wet bathrooms, overall the hotel met our expectations very well.

Nice hotel looking quite recently renovated still. Nice room, nice breakfast with good breakfast time over weekend, nice checkout policy. Very close to highway and ideal stop when you are tired from trip.
Late evening arrival, very tired but could not use elevator from parking (so walk around from garage to reception with luggage) and check-in process was for some reason very slow. But on bright side staff member was very apologetic.

The hotel was amazing! Staff was very attentive, the rooms were super modern, clean and with a great space for a couple (the facilities were very nice).
I could also bring my dog and he felt safe & sound there.
The breakfast was super diverse and also delicious! Easy to commute to the city center of Ghent as well - truly recommend!

The hallways smelt like fresh glue, and our room was facing the highway and we could hear the cars all night. We were also disappointed by the fact that we had to pay 19 euros to park at this hotel that is located near the highway.

Staff tried to be accommodating during our stay but the property was the issue.
We booked 2 adjoining rooms and one room had an electrical fault that kept failing during the night. 3 times we had to go down the receptionist for them to come up and reset the electrics. We had virtually no sleep and walked into the bed base twice in the dark. We complained and were told that nothing could be done and we would not be compensated for the issues during our stay.
When we checked the rooms, there is a mains socket immediately adjoining the bathroom sink and this is so dangerous. In the UK this is banned but clearly not an issue with IHG and if you have young children using the sink there is a genuine risk of a severe electric shock. I don't know why our electric kept tripping but the stay was beyond disappointing and there are hotels close by, and adjoining this one, that you would be safer and more accommodating.
