Wonderful
Breakfast room has a lovely high aspect with views. The tables were a good size and the food was excellent.
We would have liked larger bath towels.

the location was good. Althought we did take an upber from the train station.
the room was very nice, but air conditioning was not working in the building. They did give us a fan a provided a free breakfast. the breakfast was wonderful. But if I had to pay for it I would have gone out for breakfsat.

Room was super cozy and the river view was really nice!
Bathroom could use some updating. Our shower doors didn’t close all the way with a tiny crack that let some water out. Also, as a traveling foreigner, I wasn’t expecting such a short and limited amount of hot water, but I was able to recognize and accommodate for it in the morning.

Wonderful
Ghent River Hotel is made up of several old buildings renovated to provide a modern feel while still keeping historic details and charm. The room I stayed in was huge and had some really cool architectural features. It was extremely comfortable and the robes and slippers were a nice touch. The breakfast was excellent, both in terms of selection and quality of items. This location is great, footsteps from Vrijdagmarkt and a short walk from nearly anywhere else you’d want to go, including the Christmas market.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

Location was great, close walk to everything in the centre of Ghent. Parking out front of the hotel. The room we had was clean and a good size for a family of 4. The spa was nice but…
The spa is their only facility to offer and they charged 15 Eu for 1 hour. Kind of ridiculous for the cost of the stay.

beautiful room with a bath, very comfortable beds, pretty part of town and a clean room.
The room was very noisy. We woke up at 6:45AM because are neighbors upstairs were quietly speaking to each other. Plus, we heard another room snoring most of the night.
Another thing, the staff at front desk wasn't particularly nice or helpful, including hanging up the phone mid sentence when we called from the room with a small question.

Location
False advertising - only half the building is historic. Other half is a standard corporate looking hotel. Not what's pictured at all. Not worth the price point. Found an apartment half the price down the street on Booking.com, way more charming.

The hotel is located right in the heart of the city center with the Vrijdagmarkt being mere seconds away. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and throughout our visit found every member of staff to be very helpful and in case of need, very fast to respond. Our room overlooked the Leie which added a very nice touch to our stay. The room was spacious, clean and equipped with all the essentials for making our stay enjoyable.
The sound proofing of the rooms is something that can be improved upon

Very good location
There was no hotel slippers involved in the standard package which i found weird and didnt pay attention while booking it. When asked, reception told us that they can sell us for 5 euro each. I think such things should be included

It was well located, the bed was comfortable and very cute on the inside, good shower. The staff arranged a very early cab for us at 7am the next day.
There was a lot of construction in the area and I think the outside did not match the inside, like the room was better than exterior. No screens on the windows, we were eaten alive by mosquitos bc we were on the river.

Its location was superb. The rooms were great. The staff maintains the property well. Great value
The head of the bed was right by the air conditioning vent. Great for digging in like a tick in the covers, but can’t dry out your sinuses, at least in my room.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The room size was larger than I expected and we did have air conditioning which was a pleasant surprise. The location was absolutely great, we were able to walk everywhere.
