Exceptional
Nice location and hotel. The room was good, not much view though overlooking a wall and another room’s window.
It was one of the most expensive hotel stay we had during the whole 3 week trip around Europe and it didn’t deliver much. The parking fee was quite expensive and we weren’t offered to book a breakfast.

Wonderful
It met my expectations. The window view was a bit weird, but otherwise everything else was on point.
It was a bit noisy. Especially in the morning

Good
Hotel is well run by mostly happy staff with a broad selectin at breakfast including a chef for omeletes of your choice.
Location is a little away from old town and Brussels is generally very hilly making it hard to get around on foot - especially with Googles maps not functioning properly in many instances here

Sound of cars on cobbles when window was open. But not to much of a problem.

Great location and good room with soundproof windows.
Lack of understanding from staff and late notice of unavailability of carpark (morning of arrival)

Staff were very warm and helpful. Room was clean and spacious, and within walking distance of the city's main attractions like the grand place and Manneken Pis. Absolutely nothing to complain about and will definitely be back!

Excellent breakfast. Comfortable room and bathroom, good cupboard space. Clean and very diligently serviced during our stay. Some restaurants and shopping nearby. Decent gym as well.

Pleasant
The location, the staff, and the hotel in general were excellent.
The on-site restaurant - Hispania - was also excellent and the staff were lovely and paid good attention to my dietary needs.
Despite me contacting the hotel prior to travelling about my food allergies, and being assured that they could manage them, there were virtually no gluten free or safe foods available at breakfast.
There was a significant risk of cross contamination between lactose free and non-lactose free, gluten free and non-gluten free, and vegetarian foods and meat and egg products.
The non-gluten free bakery options for breakfast looked great and included among other things:
carrot cake,
cheesecake,
apple pie,
waffles,
croissants,
cookies,
numerous pastries,
donuts,
plus several different types of bread.
The gluten free options consisted of:
dried up bread rolls,
granola crackers, (also very dry)
rice cakes, (think sweet cardboard)
and tiny coconut macaroons.
The yoghurt and fruit dishes were served from large bowls with a spoon, which were placed right next to the lactose free yoghurt. Meaning anyone could use one spoon for both, thus putting someone with a lactose intolerance at severe risk.
Meat and non-meat products were all served together. The chaffing dishes were split into two with one side containing a meat product, the other a vegetable product, e.g. beans and sausages, or mushrooms and bacon, which would lead to cross contamination for vegans/vegetarians or other strict diets.
I am allergic to eggs, and am gluten intolerant and suffer severely when I ingest them, so am very careful not to. However, I became ill after eating breakfast here, which I can only put down to cross-contamination.
This was reported and the staff appeared to understand my concerns and took them seriously. They wrote my complaint down and said that they would take it further. I have not heard anything yet about what changes they are implementing to protect other allergy sufferers.
