The property is located in Grotemarkt, or the central square, right behind the historic Grand Place. It has fantastic connectivity via train and taxi, and there are a ton of pubs, eateries and restaurants all around, from street-side eateries to black-tie sit-down affairs. During our stay, a Brussels Dance Festival was being held right outside the hotel, so the atmosphere was "lively" and "supercharged".
I had booked our room with breakfast, so we had access to a massive spread every morning to start our day. The breakfast spread was a mix of American and European, but unlimited amounts of fresh hot black coffee, local produce, and a live egg station made it worthwhile.
Also, the property also had some money saving features, like a water station at every floor to fill up our water bottles any time of the day. This was an immense money saver as we are not comfortable drinking tap water and we would have had to spend a fortune on bottled water.
For a large Mariott property, the service wasn't up to the mark. When we got to the property, it was 3 hours early than the advertised check-in time, so we waited. I had already paid up upfront, but when the check-in time of 3 pm CET came, there was still no room. It was another 90 minutes and after constant (and immensely frustrating) follow-ups at the front desk that finally our room was ready.
While waiting for our room in the lobby, we were treated to a free sauna from our own body fluids. The hotel's front lobby has no airconditioning, which is a massive let down. Guests waiting for their room had no option other than to bathe in their own sweat. For a large hotel chain with access to massive resources, it was a let down.
The room cleaning service was also not up to the mark. Our room wasn't cleaned on the second day of our stay, and it was a massive let down when we came back hot and sweaty and found our room in the same condition we left behind. This is not a cheap B&B, it's a hotel, and a Mariott at that. Rooms were supposed to be cleaned every day. It mustn't be the guests' work to clean up, as the hotel charges contain the clean-up service. Thereafter, to make sure we don't face the same disappointment, we followed up every day before leaving the hotel on sightseeing, to ensure room cleaning was done.

Lovely staff, nice clean good size room with fridge and coffee/tea making facilities, loved the shower and an fabulous breakfast buffet. Fantastic location in the heart of Brussels with plenty to do and see as soon as you walk out the door.

Location is awesome, it's main advantage of the hotel, close to a city center.
Room cleaning was disappointed, dust on the floor, hairs here and there, coins from previous guests, or even older. Even after asking to clean room, everything remains the same. Room was badly prepared, one bath rob and slippers, for a family of 3, towels were for two all the time. All necessary and basic staff which always should be in a room we had to ask on a reception (vanity kit, shampoo, which wasn't in room from the beginning, any small goods were missed). Cupboard cups for coffee on breakfast.

Good location in old town but a bit noisy. From 6 am noisy of construction and till 2-3 am youth is outside and loud. I understand that it doesn’t depend on hotel. Overall hotel is very good
