The location is very good and staff are very friendly
The smell at the hotel entrance is quite unpleasant and should be addressed by the hotel management as soon as possible. From the moment you enter the hotel, there is a noticeable odor that creates a poor first impression and negatively affects the overall guest experience.

Exceptional
It is a very nice property, clean, roomy, and comfortable.
It was a walk from the city center. Not too bad though. I would still use again

Fair
Reception, staff were lovely
Room was just sad - stuck in a time-warp.
And a paper cup and one sachet of instant coffee in the room is just cheap and nasty,

Very Good
The bed was amazing!! Large, comfy, everything you would want from a great bed!
The room was quite spacious and pretty good on soundproofing.
And the breakfast saloon and Reception/ Bar area are lovely.
The neighborhood is so-so. Although you are at walking distance from the train station, or Grand Place, the streets are quite dirty some days (not all) and they give you an unpleasant feeling when walking in/out of the hotel.
The Hotel has a nice old/ classic feeling, but some things need to be reconsidered, like the water foucet in the bathroom: quite difficult to turn it off completely so no water drips.

Can’t control AC within the room. It did cool down, but still on the warmer side when it’s 35 outside

The breakfast was ok. The location was OK. I like the Victorian style. I like the room.
I didn’t like the fact that the hotel is a Five Star hotel but they didn’t have someone to help you with the luggage!!!
Some of the receptionist are not friendly.
The hotel is not generous. For watet, they only give you at check-in!!
The lobby has weird smell and needs to be taken care of.

It’s a beautiful old hotel the staff is nice and the location is pretty good.
One thing is that the car park is bonkers and not easy to deal with. There’s a car elevator and you then have to hoof your luggage 2 flights back to the lobby and the reverse when leaving. It’s a challenge. Also, for the prices they are charging they should have had good coffee machines in the rooms. They left you with freeze dried coffee where you add hot water. Not very European to say the least. Luckily good coffee to be found nearby

Room was big. Comfortable. Quiet. Fridge in room is always a plus.
Bathtub was too narrow. Hairdryer was old with only 1 setting.

Wonderful
The room was very large and the bathroom was great with the toilet across the hall way from the tub and sink and both rooms had their own doors. The bed was wonder and best of all for me three chairs and all of them were comfortable. The room had a desk and an eating table perfect for room service. My wife and I were just recovering from colds and we had room service for diner three of our five nights. All the main dishes were wonderful as were the salads, desserts and wine. The breakfast room was beautiful and the food they offered was as good or better than we had in a five star hotel we stayed in Rome. We did not get out to all the things we wanted to do, because of our colds. The location was great if we had felt better, but it was a great place to relax, recover and plan the rest of our vacation. We will have to go back and hopefully not be sick. The staff worked really hard to make everything feel like we belonged and they made us feel at home. Teddy the security guard always had time to talk to me and had a lot of information about the area.
They had two main lobby elevators that needed to be repaired and were shut down for our last two nights. The hotel has three or four other elevators. One is a handicap elevator and three our used by the cleaning staff. In order to get to the best breakfast in town, we called the front desk and a wonderful reception staff person would come to our room and lead us on a trip through two or three hall ways and two different elevators to reach the beautiful breakfast room. The Return trips which were done by different reception staff members, was always an adventure. The hotel has a large bar and an even larger dinning/ meeting room off the bar all on the main floor. If they were to move the breakfast room up to the main floor. This hotel would be perfect. Even with the breakfast adventures, when we come back to Brussels, this is were we will stay.
