Proximity to the old part of the city: convenient for sightseeing.
Proximity to Central Station.
Attractively decorated rooms.
Too many stairs - but this is due to the construction of the buildings that make up the hotel, so impossible to do anything about them.

Very central location, but quiet within, we had a junior suite, stylish, king size comfy bed, enjoyed the breakfast, helpful staff, we had a bottle of house champagne before going out one evening, ice cold & very nice/reasonable, looked after our suitcases for a few hours after checkout

I didn’t have the breakfast. My husband and I are vegan and generally paid breakfasts don’t work for us because of limited vegan choices
The first time we stayed there July 7-9, we got a fabulous room in the newer section. Large room, comfy large bed, coffee machine, big shower etc. The second time we were there just a few days later we initially got a really tiny room (I was told later it was because we had requested twin beds…), no coffee machine, small bathroom (I was touching the heating radiator while using the toilet!!, and the person above us kept stomping around all night long! But they did move us to another room when I asked but it ended up being a queen bed which creaked a bit…. We had paid almost the same as we had the first time, (the difference was only a few euros per night), I would have expected a better room like the first one we had. But the staff is very helpful and obliging and you really can’t beat the location!

Absolutely everything. The service was attentive but unobtrusive, the building and decor itself is beautiful, and the location is ideal.
I have been to Bruxelles four times and this will be the place I return to.

Outstanding place. Booked a suite and very much met expectations throughout. Excellent breakfast, great location, would stay again. The staff were excellent - even asked if we were travelling by plane because of disruption at the airport (we weren't thankfully) but they were good enough to enquire so they could assist us if needed. Really good service.
Nothing really, was a bit on the pricey side but got the value out of the suite. Can't fault it!

The 17th century property built for the Spanish Ambassador was beautiful and very high class. The rooms had lots of character and variety. You couldn't find a better location: literally steps from the train station and right in the center of old town, it was a 5 min walk or less to anything you might want to see or do.
Not really a dislike, just a warning: because of the age and change of use of the property, there is a high degree of variation in the rooms. It's not like ordering a bank of idential rooms from an American mega-hotel. Breakfasts were fairly high priced, so we dined out, but ended up paying about the same.
