Exceptional
Perfect location right by the EU institutions, with many restaurants and small supermarkets nearby. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable, with a desk and space to hang clothes. Perfect for a work trip.
The price was quite high for what it is - but all hotels were even more overpriced in the area in the same period.

Poor
Friendly stuff, good location, calm place
We stayed in room 808 for only one night. During the night, my wife and I noticed some insects crawling on the walls. When we looked closer, we realized they were bed bugs. We found several of them on the walls and in the bed.
The hotel staff moved us to room 607, but we then spent about an hour checking and shaking out all our clothes and belongings because we were afraid of bringing the bed bugs with us. All of this happened at around 2 a.m.
In the morning, we noticed that my wife had many bites, and she was itching all day.
Today, after arriving home, we also have to spend the day carefully washing and treating all our clothes and belongings because there may still be bed bugs or eggs in them. We do not want to bring them into our home.
Maybe we were just very unlucky, but this was a very negative and unpleasant experience.

Good
Parking ability, quiet room, cleanliness
Staff should pay attention to the language of the client, I should not get a French paper to sign when I do the complete conversation in English. Generally (but that’s for all hotels in Europe ) I find the free items given for the stay not enough: only a shower cap, no toothbrush, no razor kit …

Good
I liked the location, it is safe to walk around even in the night. Metro and train station was just a few mins away, good restaurants around.
Hotel is a bit old, bathrooms had a musty odor, sink and bath tub were clogged, though the front desk offered the maintenance, It's not convenient have maintenance work in your room during your stay. For the price that they charged us( during the concert days) they could do so much better.

Wonderful
Clean and comfortable. The location is perfect if you’re there to work in the European quarter. Otherwise, it’s less than ideal
I have nothing to say here as we weren’t there long enough to use the facilities.

Wonderful
The room had little details that made our stay feel a little more luxurious than normal. For example we liked the availability of a coffee machine and a good selection of tea in the room. Our room and the hotel itself were spotless with staff being available to help at all times. I sprained my ankle earlier on in our trip and I asked for a bag of ice from the restaurant every night. They were super accommodating especially on one night when the bar was closed; they sent a staff member up to our room with ice which they double bagged and the gentleman told me he hoped I would get well soon. There was a bottle opener, a trouser/pant press, and a little bench near the door to sit on when putting on your shoes, which I particularly found helpful given my injury. The room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated which is always nice. No major issues!
There were a few restaurants that had their back terraces outside our room's window, so it actually was quite loud from 6 p.m. to midnight both weekdays and weekends but of course that is out of the hotel's control. It's just something to consider when staying here if you have kids. We did like however, that since it was in a government area, there were a lot of good restaurant options within walking distance. Lastly, our sink wasn't draining properly and so when it was half full we realized after we'd left for the day, that it was actually also leaking underneath. We only stayed for a few days so it didn't bother us too much but might need some maintenance.

I had an excellent stay at Berlaymont Hotel in Brussels - definitely one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The hotel fully deserves its 4-star rating. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a nice bathroom and a relaxing atmosphere throughout the stay.
I especially appreciated the in-room coffee machine, along with complimentary tea and coffee, which added an extra level of comfort. The breakfast was truly superb, with a wide variety of high-quality dishes and everything you could want to start the day perfectly.
The location is another huge advantage. The hotel is situated in the political heart of Europe, close to Schuman Station, making it very convenient for getting around the city. The area also felt safe, clean, and pleasant to walk around at any time of day.
Overall, Berlaymont Hotel combines comfort, cleanliness, excellent service, and a prime location - a fantastic choice for staying in Brussels.

The location is great - right in the center of Brussels. Some of the staff are nice and helpful
If you’re expecting a typical four-star hotel experience, this might not be the right choice. Service felt a bit inconsistent, and some staff didn’t seem particularly interested in the overall guest experience. At checkout, no one asked how my stay was, which was surprising (maybe because they already knew the answer?).
The rooms and facilities feel quite dated and somewhat worn. In my room, there were visible signs of past water damage that seemed to be covered up with uneven wallpaper. The bathroom also didn’t feel properly cleaned, with some dust and cobwebs.
Noise is definitely an issue. The rooms are not well soundproofed—you can hear pretty much everything, from the person above showering to neighbors opening drawers. The room doors are also quite loud when they shut.
I was told my room was one of the quieter ones, which honestly makes me wonder what the other rooms are like.
