In the center of Bruges, just under half a mile from the central Market Square with the Belfry of Bruges and a 2-minute walk from 't Zand concert building, Hotel Portinari is surrounded by a range of restaurants. Amazing spot in the Old Town, but a bit of a nightmare to get to by car. The staff are friendly especially with the kids.
There is no door for the bathroom which is not compatible for family living together. The suite tahr we stayed in was uncomfortably hot; despite reporting the poor AC performance multiple times, the issue was never resolved. It was disappointing for a room of that size. The suite was not well-cleaned, and we saw cockroaches on the floor multiple times

Lovely building and good location, very near the historic centre but enough away to be quieter. Near the station so can walk rather than need a taxi. Very clean and comfortable, good shower. Breakfast had a lot of interesting and healthy items and good choice and all well cooked.
Not many central areas to hang out or sit in - eg later in the evening. Breakfast area was small although this wasn’t a problem when we were there as never busy.
