I was honoured to stay in this beautiful building whose location was just perfect. My room was clean, spacious with a very high ceiling and the bed was very comfortable. The host was very informative & friendly (I'm thankful for advising me the best places for cevapi & burek in Sarajevo) and able to assist me at any time. I do recommend Hostel Residence and I'd definetely stay there another time when in Sarajevo.

The guy at reception was really friendly and helpful, and him and a lady (I assume the owner) helped me find the fastest/easiest direct bus to get for the airport. Comfortable beds, good room, lockers, good kitchen, nice bathroom/shower, a few sofas and chairs to sit and chill.
The lounge piano room that is in the pictures isn't accessible which is quite sad as half the reason why I originally noticed the place and booked was for the piano, but it's okay.

Located next to the street where all the bars are, which meant very loud music, drunken people noises and glass bottle noises until 3am every day there, even mid week

The building was a beautifull historical places. It maybe would require little maintenance For the price it was anyway totally worthy.

False advertising. We paid for a private bathroom that the room did not have. The member of staff told us that the bathroom outside of our room was for our use only however there were a lot of people using this at all hours. We would have booked to stay somewhere else if we had realised this was the case. There was also not a toilet in that bathroom. We had read reviews about the noise from the street however it really was something else, booming music until 2am every night and lights flashing through the windows - impossible to get a decent night sleep or even have a conversation with other people in the room! The Wi-Fi was very poor, incredibly slow and could barely load an email.

The location was great but be aware that the nightlife in the neighborhood is quite loud. The staff was very nice.
We asked for a room with private bathroom but what was private was the shower, the toilet was outside. The wifi was unusable, any of them.

-I booked dorm for 4 and got bed in 7 beds dorm - pictures shows area not available for dorm guests , all this nice areas are private room, for hostel guests is only small kitchen with no seats and sofa in corridor on the other floor - rooms are above bars which play VERY LOUD music till 3am (you feel like you are inside one of the bar laying on bed) -only 1 shower for many rooms

Hostel is amazing, great old building and good facilities. Staff are really friendly and helpful.
Maybe it was bad luck as I was there during the film festival, but the hostel is right above a street of bars which blast obscenely loud music until midnight.

The staff was really friendly. We booked a double room which had a lot of space for the two of us. The room and the common areas were clean. Location is perfect.
The upstairs wifi didn't work and the main one from downstairs didn't reach our room.
