You'll live in the heart of the Old Town, only 7 minutes walking from the metro station and two metro stops from a bus station where a shuttle bus from the airport stops.
Even though winter is not the best time to come to Baku since there is no central heating and the wind makes it colder, I had the warmest time there. The owner, Farid, warmly welcomes you, will tell you everything you need to know about getting to the city from the airport, and is ready to show you around and tell you many things about Baku that only locals know.
My room and bathroom had heaters, and my blanket was perfectly warm to save me during snowy and windy nights in Baku.
I enjoyed my time there and hope to return once it gets warm!

It's excellent value for money and Farid is an very kind and friendly host. He is also very helpful and quick to forgive guests' frustrations. He helped me lift a heavy trunk down to the main road out of the Old Town when I checked out. Comfortable bed, nice shared bathroom and kitchen, excellent location.
Guests should be aware the entrance to the property is hard to locate: there's no sign and the number on the confirmation email is next to a door that is always locked. I use Maps to navigate to the property and then was outside for an hour, 6:30-7:30am, before I could get hold of Farid. I had to use a neighbouring hostel's WiFi to ring him and find out where the guesthouse is. Despite this frustration, my high score reflects how it's a great place to stay in the Old Town.

Spectacular place if you consider the relation between price and quality. The owner is a great person who wants to help you if you ask him. The place has all you need (hot water, good wifi, a kitchen) and is located in the middle of the old town a short walk away from the metro station.

Good experience here. The host was extremely helpful, very responsive over text, meeting us at the train station in the middle of the night upon our return and departure, even paying our cab driver when we didn't have local currency. The rooms were large and the kitchen had everything we needed. It is not a crowded hostel which is nice. Instead, it is a couple of free rooms living in a man's house (the host).
For female travelers, it's okay but some may feel a need for more boundaries.

Super old city with its fun mazes and small streets that Google maps does not capture. A few of the best restaurants with the walls. The price value makes it a super deal. Host is very helpful when around. Free laundry, relaxed home.
Notoriously hard to find the place. Like many places in AZ, no signs outside homestays.

The hotel is in the old city, behind the castle walls and near the ancient spots in Baku. Most of the touristy stuff is here. It's far from the roads which is nice in that it's really quiet, you don't hear traffic. I don't think the owner speaks English, I spoke to him in Russian, I was at another hotel and nobody there spoke Russian or English well so that was dificult. The owner was kind and he accepts payments in any currency. The hotel was very cheap, around 50 dollars for 6 nights or so.
The hotel was at first dificult to find though that's not their fault, the streets are very confusing in the old city, once I found it,I had no issue returning. I wouldn't blame the hotel since they can't change the navigability of the old center.

The hostel literally inside the walled old city in the middle part. Cars can enter but with parking fee, not use for taxi, but for sure you have to carry on your luggage to Hostel. The owner is very friendly. Hostel itself is very good location. Not crowded that makes it better.Recommended place in Baku City.

Guesthouse Khazar is an excellent value for money cheap option that lets you stay in the heart of the old town of Baku.
I had my own small and cozy private room. The shared toilet and shower space was huge.
The manager of the guesthouse is a lovely man who was very helpful, let me do two rounds of laundry for free and was always quick to help me with questions I had on WhatsApp.
I booked for 3 days but ended up extending for a week.
The bedside lamp in my room wasn’t bright enough and the wire would cut out sometimes

Everything was great. Location in the UNESCO city center in a cute house. The owner is super friendly, helpful. You can use kitchen amenities. Bathroom is big. The room is spacious, bed really comfortable. It's really clean. Just perfect.

This place is warm Azeri hug, not just a guesthouse. It's a real traditional house in the heart of Old Baku, so full of charm and character. Most welcoming and generous host, he really looks after his guests in true amazing Azeri hospitality. Quiet, peaceful, away from any sort of noise and yet 5 minutes walk to the subway station. Very clean, great shower, comfy bed and it's not a dorm, the owner made it into individual single bed pods with wooden walls and even individual doors, bedside tables and lamps.

We really enjoyed our days in Baku and our host helped us understanding better Azerbaijan. Moreover, thanks to him, we discovered the pomegranate wine, very tasty!
The guesthouse is in the middle of the Old City, near a metro station and at walking distance from other attractions. But it’s easy to get lost at the arrival, so the first time, I suggest you to meet the host in front of a gate, to be accompanied to the accommodation.
