location is great few steps from the beach, room was comfy. you have many beach staff you can take like chairs, balls, inflatables and more
reception closes at 3pm daily, our room was on a high floor hard to carry the lugge up the stairs

The ladies running the hotel are amazing! So friendly & extremely helpful. Really above & beyond on all of the little extras they provide—everything you possibly could want for a beach vacation is there for your use free of charge. Great location—Property is only steps from the beach & quick walk to restaurants/bars.
Space was a little tight in our unit & air conditioning struggled to keep cool.

Great location. Super close to the beach and all of downtown Port Douglas. Staff were super friendly and room was cozy. Overall a good launching pad to the Barrier Reef and Daintree. Lobby had beach towels and other necessities to use which was nice.
Felt very much like a motel which is fine but a bit disappointing given the price. Bathroom was quite small and a little inconvenient. Bit of a problem with small bugs getting in the room. Bed and linen felt cheap. Outlets were all in one corner of the room which was not convenient.

This little motel is a few steps away from a stunningly beautiful beach, and it's clean and bright and very cheerful, with a great view of the water from our balcony. The motel supplies literally everything you could possibly ever need for your stay, from bikes, to chairs, to coolers and thermoses and towels and umbrellas. It even supplied ice and filtered water (and a pitcher!), which were much appreciated! The kitchenette in our room was really well stocked. The pool was clean and refreshing. The staff were super friendly and helpful and made us feel extremely welcome. The motel is between the beach and is a couple minute's walk from the main part of the cute town of Port Douglas -- super close, but in a quiet spot. This stay definitely exceeded my expectations -- I was really impressed with the level of thoughtfulness and care that was evident all over By the Sea. Great stay; would highly recommend.

All the extra things that were thought about,,,, everything here you could possibly need. Great location. Easy walk to restaurants and cafes. The recommendations we received from staff were all spot on!
You could hear the upstairs neighbours, particularly if there was children running around early in the morning.

Staff was exceptional. They helped arrange excursions, gave tips on local sites and restaurants, and had bicycles and beach supplies for guest use. It was a memorable stay and I would use them again in a heartbeat!

Available amenities offered, ie chairs, beach towels, games, trolleys, bikes etc.
Construction at rear during our stay but unavoidable and no fault of property. We were out a lot so didn’t disturb us too much.

Fabulous in every way, clean, beautifully presented and had everything we needed plus lots of little extras. Bikes to borrow, chilled water, towels to borrow and lots of other things to borrow…..all free of charge.
The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly.
Would highly recommend.
The only thing it didn’t have was a safe in the room but everything else was brilliant.

OK for two peeps too sleep alone .
Not a biggy for us as the missus was as cold as a mother in laws kiss so their was no horizontal refreshment going on anyhow !
