We were traveling for the Gold Coast Marathon. The location was perfect, it was a short walk to the start line and we could see the runners from the balcony. It was also easy for us to get to various locations, with easy access to the highway. There are shops, restaurants and a supermarket nearby so it is convenient. The apartment was functional and comfortable for traveling with a young child. The staff were mostly polite, one gentleman in particular was very helpful and friendly.
I was surprised at the level of service and I'm not sure I'll stay at a Meriton again, if I had a choice. Firstly, a stranger walked into our room when our toddler was napping because the hotel staff had assigned the wrong room to her and given her access to ours. Luckily we were in the room at the time, and the guest walked out immediately. Secondly, the key cards deactivated often and after we went to get them reactivated a couple of times, one of the staff gave me some attitude and repeatedly asked me if I was using the correct set of hotel lifts (I was) and didn't believe that the key was not working. He finally followed me to the lift lobby, where the key didn't work and gave me a new set afterwards. Also, I wanted some help from the front desk to call a local number and on that day, the hotel phones could not make any external calls for the entire day. Finally, on the last day the shower head in the master bedroom completely broke off.

Very well appointed suite. Clean & comfortable. Views were great. Very close to shops, tram/train & walks.
No instructions on how to operate dishwasher & microwave. Their operation wasn't intuitive.
