I would like to share my experience at YHA Brisbane City.
Overall, the hostel is quite well located, and you can easily explore most of the city on foot. However, the train is very close, which means you can hear it regularly, and this is not very pleasant especially when trying to rest.
The hostel itself is clean, and the staff are friendly, welcoming, and professional, which is definitely a positive point.
That said, I was disappointed with my experience. First of all, I don’t think the value for money is very good. In Brisbane, there are other accommodations offering better services for a less price.
The kitchen is quite large, but it lacks some basic equipment there is no toaster, no sandwich press, and not even dishwashing liquid available, which is surprising for this type of place.
Another negative point is the organization I had to change rooms during my stay even though I had booked for several days, and I was not informed in advance, which was quite inconvenient.
Finally, some guests might be surprised to find that they have to make their own bed, as this is not clearly stated.
In summary, despite a good location, friendly staff, and a clean environment, several important details negatively affected the overall experience.

- Reception staff are lovely
- Bar and breakfast are great.
- Pool is nice when it was hot out.
- The ease of checking in and out. Amazing.
- Showers had underwhelming water pressure
- The Level 5 elevator needs a better tweak. If someone isn't aware of the keypad, finding themselves in Level 1 can be disorienting.
- The Elevator, at the very least, bigger notices to tap the keypad to get to Level 5.
- If possible, a little canteen for supplies would be nice. (If possible)
- Can there be rooms designed for mote plus sized individuals. It was a nightmare to get to top bunk.

The shared spaces are well designed and plentiful, making it easy to meet people and enjoy the social side of staying in a hostel. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
My main issues were related to the people I shared the spaces with, so your experience may differ from mine. The shared room and bathroom were not very clean, and even after being cleaned, they became dirty again quite quickly.

There was no one cleaning the rooms everyday, I think that was one of my expectations. It is not a hotel it is more for backpackers. But this was not clear in the information.
the room service, I was expecting to go back to my room and find a nice and clean space, nothing of that happen I guess it is not a proper hotel, we need to check that properly next time.
