The style of the rooms and the hotel where nice, the rooms where spacious. Lots of restaurants close by
Our stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The cleanliness was far below standard — in the breakfast area there were fries on the floor for three days in a row, which made it obvious that the place wasn’t being cleaned properly. On top of that, the service was extremely poor. We accidentally left a universal adapter in our room and contacted the hotel just a few hours after checking out. We were told nothing had been found. We asked them to check again and to speak with the cleaners, and they advised they would email us with an update. That email never came. Even after following up again and being told the manager was “looking into it,” we still received no response. Overall, both the cleanliness and customer service were unacceptable. We wouldn’t stay here again and can’t recommend it to others.

Got the King Abercrombie room for our wedding night and it was extremely comfortable. Staff were accomodating with early check in and left us some champagne and chocolate as well which was lovely. The bathtub was a great addition which made us choose the room in the first place. For tourists, the location would be amazing as well near Central station.
Found one small cockroach but very easily dealt with; the room was definitely very well cleaned otherwise.

Great location. Quirky elements and antiques. Historic building with lots of charm.
Unfortunately, despite the cool decor and theming. This hotel lacks warmth and comfort. By that, the simple touches that make it welcoming, comfortable and homely. No complementary water in rooms, limited supplies (as a couple we couldn't share the same beverage). 1x towel per person. Presumably, these are cost saving strategies but it really let down the guest experience. This hotel could be made to feel immersive with a touch of luxury.

Excellent location, situated in an amazing funky restaurant precinct. I was upgraded to an incredible two-story room with a deep bath, huge bed and spotlessly clean. This hotel has a very unique and thoughtful decor, which was refreshing.
The 7am spin class was held on the floor above which could be heard clearly from the bedroom (I should have got up and joined them!).

It’s in a good location with a lot of food options including spice alley practically outside the hotel door. I stayed in the loft room and it was quite nice to have two separate spaces and was quite a bit bigger than some of the other rooms offered. The bathrobes are amazing and probably some of the best I’ve tried in hotels I’ve visited.
Unfortunately I think the execution is lacking. The check in was very sterile with the staff member exchanging probably two words across the process, didn’t explain where things were and just pointed to the lifts. The restaurant in the hotel for breakfast is a little lack luster and takes quite some time to receive your meals and even longer for coffee. The rooms also aren’t that soundproof so if there’s loud music on the rooftop throughout the day you can hear all of it especially when they start at 7am which isn’t the wake-up call you want. To top it all off the rooftop bar closes at 8pm on a Saturday night with no signage throughout the hotel indicating this so whilst me and other guests were finishing our drinks they turned many people away. To top it all off rather than cleaning the bar when the staff told many people it was closed and turned them away both staff sat on their phones waiting for the remaining customers to finish their drinks. This has left a very sour taste so unlikely to stay here again.
