Wonderful
Incredibly beautiful location on an undeveloped part of the south shore of Weissensee with amazing walks radiating out in all directions. Picturesque views of the lake and mountains, stylish traditional decor. Has to be one of the most beautiful and unspoilt locations in Weissensee, but you pay a Weissensee premium. The price felt a bit expense (EUR 200 per night couple, though including half-board), but this is typical pricing for Weissensee. We were not looking for dinner to be included at it was earlier than we were used to (starting no later than 7.30pm), but it is very practical, because there are not many restaurants in the area but lots of tourists; the food was good on the whole, but the odd dinner may not be to your taste, drinks are also not included in the price; the dining room has really beautiful tradition furnishing. Breakfast was excellent and served on the lawn with views of the lake and countryside. Friendly and attentive owner and staff.
Overall, it felt expensive, but the whole Weissensee area is expensive and you pay a premium, especially for such an exceptionally beautiful location. The annex where we stayed did not have WIFI, though we understand that owner is intending to install it in time for the next season. There is considerable variation between rooms (views of lake vs. views of mountains - all beautiful, main building vs. annex, double vs. twin beds), so check precisely what kind of room you are booking.
